Hippocratic AI has launched Agentic Orchestrators, teams of coordinated AI agents designed to deliver healthcare outcomes rather than complete individual tasks. The company, which introduced healthcare's first generative AI agents in 2023, developed the new technology after conducting over 250 million patient interactions. The orchestrators use a supervising intelligence to coordinate specialised agents for providers, payers, and life sciences companies. Applications include readmission reduction, chronic care management, and clinical trial enrollment. The system runs on Hippocratic AI's patented Polaris architecture, which achieved 99.89% correct advice with zero severe harm incidents across 775,000 calls validated by 7,700 US-licensed clinicians. Hippocratic AI has raised a total of $444 million from investors including Andreessen Horowitz, General Catalyst, and Kleiner Perkins.
Hippocratic AI announces new suite of Rapid Response Climate agents as extreme weather and record breaking heat escalate health threats. Already Proven: Hippocratic AI and EmblemHealth Demonstrate How Rapid-Response Climate Resilience Agents Are Helping Vulnerable Members. Expanded Solution Now Available for Payers and Providers MENLO PARK, Calif.-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Following record-breaking temperatures that affected more than 200 million Americans over the Fourth of July weekend and on the heels of back-to-back heat waves that have set national records across much of Europe, Hippocratic AI today announced that its climate-responsive voice AI agents are now available for health systems and payers across the country to deploy immediately, as healthcare organizations prepare for ongoing heatwaves and extreme weather brought on by El Niño. The launch of rapid-response resilience agents builds on the recent successful outreach conducted by EmblemHealth and other clients who have deployed the agents to help vulnerable patients during extreme heat, cold, smoke and other factors. The outcomes are real: During one recent heat wave, EmblemHealth's bilingual voice AI agent, Rachel, reached more than 16,000 members in 24 hours, identified that 10% needed further help, and earned a 9.02 out of 10 member satisfaction score. The agent, powered by Hippocratic AI, conducted clinical heat stroke assessments, safely routed vulnerable individuals to local cooling centers, and identified urgent health issues. Since then, the program has expanded to over 50,000 heat outreaches to prepare members in advance of the recent July 4th weekend heat dome in NYC, a set of 15,000 cooling-benefit outreaches conducted in April and May - and most recently calls to prepare vulnerable members from exacerbations due to bad air quality in NYC driven by the Canadian wildfires. The agents, built on the only generative voice AI platform proven safe enough for clinical interactions, can check on vulnerable patients, provide valuable education, assist in getting transportation to cooling centers and escalate when a member is in danger. They have already been proven in the field on both ends of the temperature scale: reaching members during New York's last 2 summers of historic heat waves, and standing ready for cold-weather events, wildfire smoke, and seasonal flu surges. "Before clinical-grade agentic AI this kind of rapid response simply wasn't available," said Dr. Daniel Knecht, MD, MBA, Chief Medical Officer and SVP, EmblemHealth. "Today we are able to deliver a new dimension of personalized outreach to our members by standing up thousands of clinical calls at a moment's notice. Using this technology, alongside environmental, weather, and infectious disease signals - we're advancing precision population health and a more personalized, preventive care model." EmblemHealth is able to identify its most vulnerable members using risk factors such as the urban heat island effect, heat vulnerability, social vulnerability, clinical risk, and medications, informed by precision environmental intelligence, to target outreach to members most at-risk of climate-related illness. Extreme heat and cold, air-quality risks, and other extreme weather incidents can aggravate asthma, COPD, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes - the chronic conditions that already drive significant U.S. healthcare spending and put millions of Americans at risk. Most care teams cannot reach their highest-risk populations at the scale or speed a weather emergency demands. Hippocratic AI's voice agents close that gap with high-volume concurrent call capacity, clinical-grade safety, and the conversational empathy needed to keep people engaged, especially those who are older, isolated, or managing multiple conditions. "Climate continues to have an outsized impact on health - from heatwaves to extreme cold to smoke inhalation, we know these events can trigger chronic and underlying health problems," said Paul Walsh, Meteorologist and Chief Weather Officer for ERaaS Health. "Precision environmental intelligence coupled with Hippocratic AI's rapid response agents are allowing us to predict, prepare and respond to major events." Forecasters at the World Meteorological Organization and NOAA expect El Niño to strengthen rapidly through the fall, raising the odds of more frequent and more severe heat waves, droughts, and extreme weather worldwide, making durable, always-on outreach infrastructure a necessity rather than a convenience for the populations most at risk. Historically, capacity, not intent, has been the binding constraint on reaching vulnerable populations during these events. Hippocratic AI's voice agents extend the human workforce rather than replace it, and are built to scale instantly when an alert is issued, whether that alert is a heat advisory, a cold-weather warning, or a wildfire smoke event. Built for every climate event, not just one The same agent infrastructure that responded to the Northeast heat emergency already extends across a full range of climate and health events: * Allergen and air-quality alerts: agents proactively reach members with asthma, COPD, and seasonal allergies when pollen counts spike or air quality deteriorates, confirming inhaler access, refill status, and trigger-avoidance plans. * Year-round climate-health response: from wildfire smoke to extreme cold to flu surges, health systems and payers can activate a Resilience Agent the moment a region issues an alert, reaching members who are not being served today. * Equity reach: the same infrastructure extends to rural members, Spanish speakers, and high-utilization patients who have historically been underserved by traditional outreach. Hippocratic AI has launched climate-responsive voice AI agents for health systems and payers to deploy during extreme weather events. The agents can check on vulnerable patients, provide education, assist with transport to cooling centres, and escalate urgent cases. EmblemHealth recently deployed the technology, with its bilingual AI agent Rachel reaching over 16,000 members in 24 hours during a heatwave. The agent identified that 10% needed further help and achieved a 9.02 out of 10 satisfaction score. The programme has since expanded to over 50,000 heat outreaches. The agents address allergen alerts, air quality issues, extreme temperatures, and wildfire smoke events. They identify at-risk members using factors including the urban heat island effect, clinical risk, and medication profiles, enabling targeted outreach during weather emergencies.
WellSpan expands Hippocratic AI partnership to support clinical operations and improve patient experience. July 30, 2026 YORK, Pa. (July 30, 2026) - WellSpan Health today announced an expanded multi-year partnership with Hippocratic AI, the leader in safety-focused generative voice AI agents for health care. The agreement transforms WellSpan's relationship with Hippocratic AI from individual use cases to a platform-wide commitment that extends AI-powered capacity across inbound, outbound, ambulatory and inpatient settings. It also launches a formal co-development program to build the next generation of AI agents, supported by a dedicated Hippocratic AI team embedded at WellSpan's York, Pa. campus. "The future of health care will be shaped by organizations that build the culture, governance and clinical capabilities to harness artificial intelligence responsibly at scale," said Roxanna Gapstur, Ph.D., R.N., president and CEO of WellSpan Health. "At WellSpan, we've been intentional about creating this foundation, so innovation advances safely, strengthens clinical excellence and earns trust. Our expanded partnership with Hippocratic AI is an investment in the future of care - one that expands access, supports our care teams and creates a more personalized experience for every patient we serve." "WellSpan was the first health system to partner with us on a vision for transforming patient care, and together we proved what responsible, generative AI can do at scale," said Munjal Shah, co-founder and CEO of Hippocratic AI. "The next phase is about abundance: reimagining what patient care can be when it's no longer constrained by scarcity - designed together, on the same campus, under the same standard of safety." The expansion builds on nearly two years of measurable results: Ana, WellSpan's generative AI agent developed in partnership with Hippocratic AI, currently manages more than 160,000 patient calls per month, engaging in more than 7,000 hours of conversation. Patients can also access Ana on WellSpan.org to assist with answering frequently asked questions and providing doctor and location information on request. New additions to the partnership include: Expanded AI-powered capacity. Under the expanded terms, WellSpan will collaborate with Hippocratic AI to develop new use cases for Ana across multiple patient touchpoints, evolving Ana from answering inbound calls and scheduling primary care appointments to conducting post-discharge follow-up and chronic disease check-in. Initial workflows will focus on proactively closing gaps in care by conducting outreach to patients with missed imaging appointments. Every new use of Ana will follow a governance, safety and implementation structure and will be developed in close coordination with WellSpan medical and clinical teams to help alleviate administrative burden and allow them to focus on important, complex and sensitive interactions. Co-development of regulated and orchestrated clinical AI. WellSpan becomes one of the first U.S. health systems to formally co-develop next-generation clinical AI with Hippocratic AI. As part of this, WellSpan will trial voice AI tools that support clinicians with triage tasks, and launch the Hippocratic AI Orchestrator, a new solution designed to support clinical care teams as they navigate a patient's care plan and health history and coordinate across their care spectrum. Embedded Hippocratic AI team onsite in York. Hippocratic AI is establishing a dedicated, in-person team of clinical, engineering and deployment specialists at WellSpan's York, Pa. campus. The team will work alongside WellSpan clinical and operational leaders to design, deploy and refine programs in real time, using on-the-ground insights to help scale from pilot phase to full deployment faster and more efficiently. Ongoing feedback and clinician experience will directly shape how these tools evolve, keeping patient outcomes at the center of every decision. This partnership aims to serve as the operational blueprint for other health systems. By moving past one-off pilots and into platform-wide deployment, WellSpan is demonstrating what it looks like when generative AI is woven into the fabric of a health system.
