PowdrIQ international challenge for students. Höganäs AB has launched PowdrIQ, an international challenge for university students to explore innovative applications for metal powders. Open to undergraduates, master's, and PhD students, the challenge invites participants to identify new uses for metal powders in three key areas: sustainability, performance and efficiency, and market needs. An internal committee will evaluate submissions based on innovation, feasibility, sustainability impact, and industry relevance. Winners will receive cash prizes of €5,000, €2,500, and €1,000, with the first-place winner also earning a study trip to a Höganäs site. The PowdrIQ University Challenge is open to students from around the world, aiming to inspire fresh ideas and drive positive change in various sectors.

Metasphere Technology, founded in 2009, atomizes metals to metal powder in a new and ground-breaking reactor, where plasma and centrifugal forces play vital roles. The technology allows melting and atomizing of different sorts of metals, for instance titanium, and many other materials at very high temperatures.
Sweden's Höganäs AB has received a Partner of the Year award from the GTCC Division of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), a leading global industrial group headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
Höganäs has started working systematically with life cycle assessments and as a first step a carbon footprint study of the Somaloy 5P product family was conducted.
