While there, he took a job as a peer specialist, a role that eventually led him to his current position as a peer recovery specialist at Beebe Hospital. "I needed structure, and Corinthian gave me that," Chuck says. "I had to work; I had to pay rent - that accountability was a huge part of my recovery." He remembers waking up at 2 a.m. wanting to use, and calling his peer specialist, Jesse, to talk him down. Now Chuck does the same for others. "It's fulfilling to walk someone out to the car when they leave the hospital for rehab," he says. "I did my part - what happens next is up to them. But we don't give up on people.
