INRIX launches Signals Scorecard: Americans wait average 20.1 seconds at traffic lights across 276,880 analysed signals

INRIX has launched the INRIX Signals Scorecard, a new report that helps US transportation agencies measure and improve traffic signal operations using real-world vehicle data. The report analysed 276,880 traffic signals across all 50 states and found Americans wait an average of 20.1 seconds per signal visit. Built on the INRIX Signals Analytics platform, the scorecard transforms data from millions of connected vehicles into metrics that quantify corridor performance and track operational outcomes. It evaluates intersection delay, peak periods, arrival on green, level of service, and quarterly trends. The tool addresses agencies' historical difficulty in measuring signal timing investments beyond individual intersections. It provides a consistent framework for evaluating performance using network-scale metrics sourced from anonymised data from passenger vehicles, commercial fleets, and mobile devices.

INRIX launches FIFA World Cup data hub tracking traffic across 11 US cities using 300M devices

INRIX, a transportation data and analytics company, has launched a 2026 FIFA World Cup Data Hub to track traffic patterns across 11 US host cities. The platform analyses data from over 300 million connected vehicles and devices, processing 44 billion data points daily. Early tournament data revealed significant congestion near stadiums, with pre-game traffic speeds dropping nearly 50% below normal within one mile of venues in cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Boston, Houston, Dallas and Philadelphia. INRIX can analyse traffic conditions around any US stadium within hours of a match. The company compares event-day speeds against historical baselines and benchmarks World Cup impacts against other major events at the same venues. INRIX will publish ongoing traffic analysis throughout the tournament, which concludes on 19 July.

Basemap and INRIX partner to expand on-demand access to high-precision Transportation Data through DataCutter.

Basemap and INRIX partner to expand on-demand access to high-precision Transportation Data through DataCutter. June 8, 2026 / By Mike Cottle Basemap and INRIX announced a partnership that gives users fast, easy access to industry-leading transportation intelligence directly through Basemap's DataCutter platform. The collaboration addresses growing demand for precise, project-ready data by enabling users to seamlessly access INRIX Volumes, Speed Distribution Profiles, and Trips for one-time analyses, reports, or targeted studies without long-term commitments. Through this partnership, users of mobility data can now source INRIX's highly accurate passenger and fleet vehicle data in a flexible, self-service environment, accelerating workflows while maintaining analytical rigor. Meeting Growing Demand for Project-Specific Transportation Data As demand for INRIX data continues to grow across a wide range of use cases including planning, safety, performance reporting, freight studies, and grant applications, Basemap DataCutter provides streamlined, on-demand access to exactly the data needed, when it's needed. Through DataCutter, users can now purchase and download: * Traffic Volumes * Speed Profiles * Trips (origin-destination data) This makes it easier to support time-bound and project-specific initiatives such as corridor studies, before-and-after analyses, safety assessments, seasonal traffic reporting, or grant-funded research, without the overhead of standing up a full data subscription. "Our customers increasingly need the flexibility to access precise data for specific projects and reporting needs," said Chico Gersappe, Chief Revenue Officer at INRIX. "By partnering with Basemap and making INRIX data available through DataCutter, we're removing friction and giving practitioners faster access to trusted data - whether they're working on a single corridor study or a critical funding application." "Basemap is focused on making high-quality spatial data easier to discover, access, and use," said Mark Gallagher, Managing Director of Basemap. "By integrating INRIX's industry-leading transportation intelligence into DataCutter, we're empowering users to move from question to insight far more quickly - without compromising on accuracy or credibility." Designed for One-Time, Purpose-Built Projects The Basemap-INRIX integration is especially valuable in scenarios where teams need reliable data for a defined purpose or timeframe, such as: * A consultant or DOT analyst producing a one-off traffic impact report * A city evaluating before-and-after safety performance for a corridor * A planning team supporting a grant application or legislative report * A site selection analyst determining the best location for a new retail outlet * An analyst validating assumptions for a proof-point or pilot project DataCutter enables users to select the geography, time-period, and data type they need, and then download it directly for analysis, modeling, or reporting. About the Data * Traffic Volumes provides a normalized count of vehicles on all road segments in the US, Canada, Great Britain and European countries, delimited by hourly increments throughout the week. * Speed Profiles provides the speed of traffic flow broken down by 15-minute increments throughout the week. * INRIX Trips data delivers anonymized, high precision origin-destination points that reveal where trips start and end for a particular area or areas delimited by time stamp. To learn more and access INRIX data through Basemap DataCutter, visit https://app.inrixdatacutter.com For additional questions or to discuss specific data needs, visit INRIX's Contact Us page to connect with the team. relevant posts/content
