Inglewood has launched a one-year fall prevention pilot programme backed by approximately $400,000 in city funding, deploying InBody's Fall Risk Assessment system for seniors. The initiative, developed with the University of Southern California, supports the city's goal of becoming America's second Blue Zone city. The FRA system integrates three devices: a force-plate kiosk for balance analysis, a body composition analyser to identify muscle imbalances, and a leg-strength dynamometer. It will be deployed at Inglewood's Senior Center through KRU Sciences, a research company founded by USC researcher Malcolm Jones. Falls are the leading cause of injury-related death among US adults aged 65 and older, contributing over $50 billion in annual healthcare costs. More than 80% of fall risk factors are detectable months before a fall occurs. The Inglewood City Council unanimously approved the programme following advocacy from USC clinicians and community support.
