CaseForm auto-populates court and government forms from a firm's existing case documents and Data Guard strips sensitive identifiers, such as Social Security and financial account numbers, before filing, addressing redaction obligations under jurisdictional rules like California Rule of Court 1.201. Corsearch: Trademark and brand protection company Corsearch announced Wednesday the appointment of Todd Morris as Chief Executive Officer. Morris joins from InMarket, an artificial intelligence-powered media and ad measurement company, where he served as CEO. He has also held leadership roles at Procter & Gamble, served as Global President of Catalina, and was CEO of Label Insight prior to its acquisition by NielsenIQ. Under Morris, Corsearch plans to continue investing in AI-powered technology including its Zeal and TrademarkNow products. Descrybe: Legal technology company Descrybe announced Friday the launch of Descrybe Open Connector, an initiative allowing law firms and legal organizations to build custom AI-powered legal research tools on top of the Descrybe Legal Engine, a legal research tool covering U.S. primary law. The release includes two open-source components: a Python software development kit for connecting custom applications to the Legal Engine, and a set of prebuilt legal research workflows for tasks such as creating research roadmaps, identifying authorities, and auditing citations and quoted language. DISCO: Litigation technology company DISCO announced Thursday the appointment of Andre Mintz to its Board of Directors, effective July 21. Mintz most recently served as Vice President, Global Security and Privacy at Meta, and has previously worked at Newport Group, Red Ventures, Nuance Communications, Leviathan Security Group, Microsoft, Reuters and FedEx. He also sits on the board of Q2, a publicly traded fintech company. Epiq: E-discovery and legal services provider Epiq announced Tuesday the launch of early access to expanded agentic capabilities in Epiq AI Accelerate, designed to allow users to conduct system-wide processes through natural language requests. The capabilities are powered by Anthropic's Claude models paired with proprietary software and are accessible through the Epiq Service Cloud. Supported processes include workspace management, processing and imaging, document search, summarization, review, and export, and production set identification and conflict searches. The new capabilities are set to roll out to general availability beginning in August. EverSettled: Consumer-facing estate settlement platform EverSettled announced July 16 that it raised a $5 million seed round led by Emergence Capital, with participation from Seedcamp, Bridge Ventures, Alumni Ventures, Entrepreneurs First, Transpose Platform, and angel investors including Paul Copplestone, Henry Irish, Barney Hussey-Yeo, Charles Jolley and Professor Chris Mairs. EverSettled offers a checklist-based platform guiding families through estate settlement, supported by an AI assistant. The company said it will use the funding to hire across engineering, marketing, growth, and legal, and to expand the platform to handle more complex estate cases. Flank: Legal AI agent developer Flank announced Thursday the launch of Flank Record, an AI agent designed to organize an organization's contract records, extract relevant data from signed agreements and provide answers to questions regarding contracts under human supervision. The agent can answer questions provided through channels including Slack, Microsoft Teams and email. Greenshoe: SEC reporting platform Greenshoe announced Thursday the launch of Continuous Disclosure Intelligence, a tool that monitors regulatory, market, governance and peer developments on an ongoing basis rather than at fixed reporting intervals and generates draft updates as changes occur. The platform uses a rule and citation engine that maps disclosure sections to relevant SEC rules,offers peer comparison against cohorts and continuous form checks, and provides exportable Microsoft Word documents with redlines and comments. Intapp: Legal tech provider Intapp announced July 15 the general availability of Celeste, an AI tool designed to handle business-side workflows for professional firms, including deal screening, conflicts clearance, business development, and lateral hiring. The tool comes with a library of prebuilt workflows covering areas such as origination, intake, conflicts, pricing, fundraising, and lateral hiring, along with a no-code workflow builder for firms to create their own. Intapp originally announced the launch of Celeste in February. Meritas/SimplyAgree: Meritas, a global alliance of independent business law firms, announced Wednesday that transaction execution platform SimplyAgree has joined its Legal Tech Education Program. As part of the program, SimplyAgree will provide customized content, demonstrations and guidance to member firms on transaction execution, signature management, closing workflows and automation in transactional legal work. SimplyAgree's platform is designed to manage signature packet creation, execution workflows and post-closing organization. NetDocuments: On Wednesday, document management provider NetDocuments announced the addition of six new apps to its ndMAX Studio program, covering trademark prosecution and plaintiff-side litigation. The trademark apps are designed to provide users with pre-filing review for issues with registrability, descriptiveness and scope, review and prepare responses to U.S. Patent and Trademark Office actions, and extract and track deadlines. The litigation apps are designed to create medical chronologies, generate jurisdiction-specific demand letters and build profiles of expert witnesses. Purpose Legal: Legal services and technology provider Purpose Legal announced Thursday the appointment of Dan Irving as Chief Financial Officer. Irving will oversee the company's financial strategy, planning, accounting and operational finance functions. He previously spent six years within the PEAK6 family of companies, most recently as Vice President of Finance at Apex Fintech Solutions, and previously as Vice President of Finance for PEAK6 InsurTech. QuisLex: Alternative legal services provider QuisLex announced Monday a new advisory framework intended to help legal departments and law firms build institutional capability for AI-assisted legal work. The framework includes an Institutional Capability Assessment, which evaluates an organization's existing workflows, governance structures, playbooks, knowledge assets, and technology investments, and identifies areas to improve to support governed and defensible AI use. The framework follows QuisLex's submission of a taxonomy of AI failure modes to several professional organizations in May. Spellbook: Contract drafting and negotiation company Spellbook announced Thursday the launch of Spellbook for Google Docs, integrating its contract review tool directly into the Google Docs interface. The tool reviews contracts and applies redlines based on flagged risks, with each flag including a citation back to its source. The release also includes Playbooks, which apply a team's preset standards, and Spellbook Ask, a feature that answers legal questions with citations drawn from more than 200 legal sources. SurePoint: Legal technology provider SurePoint Technologies announced Thursday the appointment of Jeff Steinberg as CEO. Steinberg was founder and CEO of Redwood Analytics prior to its purchase by LexisNexis, and was previously CEO of MMIT. He will be tasked with continuing the company's growth through investments in technology, services and partnerships. Previous president and CEO Eric Thurston will become executive chair of the company's board. Veritext: Court reporting and alternative dispute resolution company Veritext announced Tuesday the appointments of Jeffrey T. Zaino as vice president, Recruitment and Business Development, ADR, and Kristen Schuck as vice president, ADR Operations. Zaino joins the company after three decades with the American Arbitration Association, most recently as Vice President of its Commercial Division, and Shuck joins following 12 years as JAMS, most recently as director of operations.
