Ineffable Intelligence, the London-based AI startup founded by ex-Google DeepMind researcher David Silver, has added six high-profile "cofounders" to its team. Four are former DeepMind colleagues: Chris Apps, Wojciech Czarnecki, Lasse Espeholt, and Junhyuk Oh, who worked on breakthrough projects including AlphaStar. Alexandre Laterre joins from InstaDeep, whilst Heather Gorham comes from venture firm Flying Fish. The company raised a $1.1 billion seed round in April at a $5 billion valuation, the largest seed investment in European history. Ineffable is among several "neolabs" founded by veterans from DeepMind, OpenAI, and Anthropic, focusing on achieving AI superintelligence through reinforcement learning techniques.
