Innovatrics Identity Verification Toolkit stands up to independent video injection attack testing.

Innovatrics Identity Verification Toolkit stands up to independent video injection attack testing. As deepfakes, digital injection, and synthetic identities raise fraud risk in remote onboarding, regulated organizations face growing pressure to prevent financial losses, compliance exposure, and loss of customer trust Innovatrics commissioned Citadelo, an ethical hacking firm, to test whether its Identity Verification could resist attempts to bypass facial liveness detection. After 16 days of independent black box testing, including an evaluation of digital injection scenarios, the attacks were unsuccessful. The assessment was designed to reflect how a determined attacker would approach a real identity verification system. Citadelo worked without access to source code, internal architecture, or proprietary instructions. "During a major customer engagement, we were required to provide independent proof that our identity verification solution is resilient against injection attacks. We selected Citadelo for their expertise, reputation, and ability to meet the customer's demanding timeline. Their assessment provided valuable independent validation and reinforced confidence in the robustness of our technology," said Viktor Bielko, Product Manager for Identity Verification Toolkit. This matters because remote onboarding is now a core part of financial services, telecom, insurance, and digital platforms. As fraud tools become easier to access, companies need proof that their identity verification systems can resist more than simple photo or video attacks. Tested from the outside. The goal of the assessment in a controlled lab setting was to test how it behaved under pressure from an external security team. Citadelo reviewed Innovatrics Identity Verification with a focus on video injection and resistance to tampering. The team attempted to interfere with the capture process, replace biometric inputs, and challenge the connection between the user's device and the verification system. "The combination of strict native-layer code isolation, hardware-anchored data correlation, and server-side validation models ensures the solution provides elite protection for enterprise digital ecosystems. After days of intensive reverse engineering and injection attempts, we could not bypass the IDV solution within the timeframe. This just confirms the robustness and overall security of the technology," explained Oliver, Ethical Hacker at Citadelo. Why independent testing matters? For organizations that rely on remote onboarding, the ability to combat video injection attacks is a key part of fraud prevention. It helps confirm that the person completing a verification process is present and not represented by a manipulated image, video, or synthetic input. Independent testing adds another layer of confidence. It gives security, fraud, and compliance teams a clearer view of how identity verification performs when exposed to actual attack methods. It also reflects a practical reality. A secure onboarding flow cannot depend only on the end user's device. Modern identity verification needs layered protection, server-side validation, and checks that make it harder to manipulate the process from software alone. Innovatrics continues to invest in biometric security built on independent validation and continuous testing that helps organizations protect digital onboarding while keeping the user experience simple. Biometric Ventures backs Mettis AI's driver monitoring system combining facial recognition with behaviour analytics

Biometric Ventures, the venture capital arm of biometrics company Innovatrics, has invested in Spanish startup Mettis AI, which develops AI-based driver monitoring systems. The investment amount was not disclosed. Mettis AI combines behavioural analytics with biometric identity verification to analyse driving behaviour in real time, detecting dangerous manoeuvres and risk patterns. Its facial recognition technology ensures driver behaviour data is attributed to the correct individual, particularly useful in logistics where multiple drivers operate the same vehicle. The technology also serves ride-hailing platforms and driving schools. The companies plan to target fleet operators, mobility platforms and carpooling services. Established in late 2023, Biometric Ventures focuses on early-stage startups developing or leveraging biometric technology.

Innovatrics' Biometric Ventures invests in Mettis AI to advance road safety.

Innovatrics' Biometric Ventures invests in Mettis AI to advance road safety. Innovatrics' venture initiative, Biometric Ventures, has invested in Mettis AI, a Spanish startup specializing in artificial intelligence designed to analyze driver behavior and enhance road safety. The investment reflects a shared focus on technologies that improve safety, strengthen trust, and bring more reliable data into transport and mobility. Mettis AI's driver behavior insights and Innovatrics' biometric identity verification technology work together. This partnership delivers objective insights and transforms them into new opportunities for driving schools, fleet operators, mobility and carpooling platforms, and other services that need to know both who is driving and how they are driving. Strengthening trust through identity verification. One of the key differentiators in Mettis AI's approach is the integration of behavioral analytics with biometric identity verification. By incorporating face recognition technology, the platform ensures that driver behavior data is accurately attributed to the correct individual, a critical capability in environments where multiple drivers may operate the same vehicle. "In logistics, where drivers rotate across a single fleet vehicle, it is essential to track performance at the individual level rather than per vehicle," Vojta Diatka, the CEO of Biometric Ventures, noted. Similarly, in ride-hailing scenarios, the combination of behavioral monitoring and identity verification helps platforms confirm that the registered driver is the one behind the wheel, reducing risks associated with account sharing or unauthorized subletting. A first for Biometric Ventures. In a departure from traditional venture capital practices, this deal represents the first time Innovatrics' Biometric Ventures has closed an investment without a prior in-person meeting with the founding team. While the firm typically prioritizes face-to-face rapport, leadership noted that the clarity of vision and technical caliber of the Mettis AI team made the decision seamless. This deal underscores the flexibility and global nature of the current AI boom, and the strength of the Madrid startup ecosystem. Find out more about Biometric Ventures here.

Innovatrics launches Video Investigation to process footage into court-admissible evidence

Innovatrics has launched Video Investigation, a new feature in its ABIS for Criminal Investigation system that processes CCTV, body cam, and drone footage to extract court-admissible facial evidence. The system processes video faster than real time, automatically detecting faces and grouping them into tracklets. The Bratislava-based biometrics company's new capability allows law enforcement to upload footage directly into case files, run facial recognition against databases, and document findings within a single workflow. Investigators can adjust search parameters, create facial evidence from video sequences, and add manual annotations whilst maintaining a complete chain of documentation. Video Investigation integrates with Innovatrics' existing ABIS platform, which already handles fingerprint, palm, DNA and facial identification alongside case management workflows. Founded in 2004, Innovatrics has delivered biometric solutions to over one billion people across 80 countries.

Innovatrics launches Video Investigation to turn footage into court-admissible evidence.

Innovatrics launches Video Investigation to turn footage into court-admissible evidence. Innovatrics Video Investigation New capability in Innovatrics ABIS for Criminal Investigation processes video faster than real time, finds usable facial evidence, and documents findings. Experts must review, compare, and verify every match. Video Investigation is built with that in mind. It helps with detection, identification and reporting without breaking the chain of documentation. - Michaela Frankova, Forensic Expert at Innovatrics BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA, March 23, 2026 / EINPresswire.com / - Innovatrics, an independent provider of biometric solutions, today introduced Video Investigation, a new feature in Innovatrics ABIS for Criminal Investigation. The capability helps law enforcement and forensic teams process CCTV, body cam, dash cam, and drone footage, as well as other video sources, to locate usable facial evidence, run searches, and document verified findings suitable for court proceedings. In general, video evidence is often handled across separate tools and teams. Footage may be processed in one environment, searched in another, and documented elsewhere. That fragmentation can slow down investigations and make it harder to preserve a complete record of evidence handling. Video Investigation from Innovatrics brings video processing into a single ABIS case workflow alongside biometric search, expert review, and documentation. From footage to verified case evidence Investigators can upload raw footage directly into the case file and run face detection automatically. The system groups detections into tracklets, capturing one occurrence of a person over time. This allows investigators to review relevant sequences instead of sorting through large volumes of footage frame by frame. Identification can run against selected galleries of enrollees and facial evidence linked to cases. Investigators can rerun processing with different parameters, including the facial score threshold and the maximum number of candidates displayed. They can create facial evidence directly from the video by selecting the desired face from the tracklet and save it to the case. Furthermore, they can add manual annotations for objects or events and create SMT evidence from video. "In criminal casework, a match suggestion is a conclusion," Forensic Expert at Innovatrics Michaela Frankova added. "Experts must review, compare, and verify before anything is recorded as a hit. Video Investigation is built with that reality in mind. It helps teams move from detection to identification and then to reporting without breaking the chain of documentation." Video Investigation further expands Innovatrics ABIS for Criminal Investigation, bringing together SMT, face, fingerprint, palm, and DNA identification with case management and criminal investigation workflows in one system. With video now processed inside the same environment, law enforcement agencies can reduce operational fragmentation, accelerate investigative work, and prepare evidence with a clearer record for judicial review. About Innovatrics Innovatrics is an EU-based provider of trusted biometric solutions for governments and enterprises. Since 2004, the company has delivered biometric identity management solutions that have helped more than 1 billion people in 80+ countries, supporting use cases ranging from criminal investigation and border control to digital onboarding and secure access.
