Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Fiscal 2026 revenue reached $577.8 million, up 15%, with cloud ARR at $495.7 million.
  • September 2026 launches with OpenAI, Legora, and Profitability Network broaden cross-sell into existing customers.
  • Forvis Mazars Capital Advisors selected DealCloud with Celeste on September 22, 2026, signaling buyer momentum.

What critics are saying

  • OpenAI can commoditize user experience; Intapp risks becoming a permissions wrapper by 2027.
  • Subscription revenue still trails license decline, and FY2026 net loss hit $41.3 million.
  • If law firms bypass Intapp for native AI stacks, Celeste becomes strategically irrelevant.

What makes Intapp unique

  • Intapp owns governed firm data workflows, not generic AI, across law and finance.
  • Celeste plus DealCloud embeds relationship intelligence, conflicts, time, and billing inside one system.
  • OpenAI integrations on September 10 and 17, 2026 validate Intapp's control-layer advantage.

Intapp lands OpenAI partnership for law firm AI despite 20% stock decline

Intapp has partnered with OpenAI to integrate its Celeste AI plug-in with ChatGPT Enterprise, targeting law firms. The integration allows firms to access internal data, workflows, and relationship intelligence through ChatGPT whilst maintaining confidentiality protocols and ethical walls. Shares rose 4% following the announcement. However, the stock remains under pressure, down roughly 20% year-to-date to around $36, compared with a $45 finish in 2025. The company is transitioning to cloud and AI services, with management guiding fiscal 2027 revenue between $656.5 million and $660.5 million. Subscription revenue is expected to reach $528.7 million to $532.7 million. Celeste differentiates itself by targeting business operations rather than legal research automation, addressing the specific compliance needs of regulated industries.

Intapp launches DealCloud plug-in for ChatGPT for finance.

Intapp launches DealCloud plug-in for ChatGPT for finance. Sat, 12th Sep 2026 (Today) Intapp has launched a DealCloud with Celeste plug-in for ChatGPT for Financial Services, giving eligible clients access to firm data within the platform. Designed for deal teams in financial services, the software links a firm's client, deal and relationship records from DealCloud to ChatGPT. Intapp said the tool is governed by its existing controls for confidential information, information barriers and independence obligations. DealCloud is Intapp's platform for managing relationships, transactions and related workflows in financial services. Celeste is its internal AI assistant focused on firm-specific knowledge. The new plug-in brings those records into OpenAI's ChatGPT for Financial Services, which Intapp described as a version of ChatGPT tailored to the sector. According to Intapp, ChatGPT for Financial Services combines built-in financial data with GPT-6 Astra to support tasks such as research, financial modelling and client materials. Adding DealCloud with Celeste is intended to let users draw on their own firm's records alongside those functions. Intapp said thousands of firms use its software, including about 1,700 in private capital and investment banking. That installed base gives it a large pool of structured data on deals, investors and relationships across firms operating in regulated markets. Governance focus A central part of the launch is Intapp's emphasis on governance and compliance controls. Internal knowledge can only be exposed to an AI model if confidential information remains protected, the company said, adding that the rules already established in its systems carry over to the new ChatGPT plug-in for Financial Services. That matters in financial services, where material non-public information, internal access restrictions and independence requirements can limit how data is shared within organisations. Intapp said it built those controls into its products over two decades and is now applying the same framework to AI use. Intapp set out several uses for the plug-in, including helping professionals prepare for meetings with a broader history of a client relationship, identify colleagues with relevant connections and track the status of live deals without relying on separate manual updates. The launch also reflects how software suppliers to banks, advisers and private capital firms are trying to move beyond generic AI assistants by linking them to proprietary internal records. For many users, the value of these tools depends less on general world knowledge than on access to a firm's own relationship history, transaction data and internal decision-making context. OpenAI has been seeking more industry-specific uses for ChatGPT through tailored versions for sectors with specialised workflows and data requirements. In this case, Intapp is positioning its software as the layer that determines what a user can see from a firm's records when interacting with the model. Client access The DealCloud with Celeste plug-in is available to eligible Intapp clients in ChatGPT for Financial Services. Intapp did not provide pricing details in the announcement. Thad Jampol, Co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Intapp, outlined the company's view of where the product fits in the market: "Frontier models know the world. But they don't know your firm: who you cover, what you've committed to, what your people are and aren't permitted to see. Intapp built Celeste to be that intelligence, and we're proud to bring this plug-in into ChatGPT for Financial Services for the world's leading financial firms. Everything else in this market can be bought. What a firm knows cannot."

Intapp launches governed DealCloud with Celeste plug-in for ChatGPT for Financial Services

Intapp has launched a DealCloud with Celeste plug-in for ChatGPT for Financial Services, allowing deal teams to access their firm's client, deal, and relationship records through ChatGPT whilst maintaining data governance. Celeste is Intapp's AI co-worker that understands firm-specific information including clients, funds, investors, and past decisions. The plug-in enables professionals to access complete relationship histories, identify decision-making pathways through colleagues, and track live deals. Intapp enforces confidentiality controls including material non-public information barriers and independence obligations. Over 1,700 firms in private capital and investment banking use Intapp's DealCloud platform. The plug-in is available to eligible Intapp clients from today. Thad Jampol, Intapp's co-founder and chief product officer, said frontier models know the world but lack firm-specific intelligence that Intapp has built into Celeste.

Intapp launches Profitability Network to help law firms recover revenue lost between pricing and collections

Intapp has launched the Intapp Profitability Network, a partner ecosystem designed to help law firms track and improve revenue across the entire matter lifecycle — from pricing and staffing through to collections. Announced at ILTACON 2026, the network launches with six founding partners: Capacity, EngageAI, Legora, Lexpipe, Oddr, and Zebraworks. The platform addresses a common problem: law firms typically manage each stage of the matter lifecycle in separate systems, losing visibility into where profit margins erode. The network connects these stages into one governed system built on Intapp Time with Celeste and Intapp Billstream. All integrations undergo security and compatibility certification by Intapp's product teams. The company calls this "Firm AI" — artificial intelligence aimed at running the business of the firm itself, rather than individual tasks or work products. The Intapp Profitability Network is available now, with founding partner integrations reaching general availability throughout autumn.
