Inter, a Brazil-based digital fintech operating as a SuperApp, has scaled to 26 million active clients as of mid-2026. The company generated 421 million Brazilian real in net income during Q2 2026, marking its strongest quarter and continuing a profitability streak since Q1 2023. Net revenue reached R$2.6 billion in Q2, up 32% year-over-year. The platform offers banking, stock trading, insurance, and shopping services within a single application. Despite this growth, the stock has fallen 37% over the past year. Non-performing loans rose to 5.3% in Q2 from 4.6% the previous year. The founding family controls 78% of voting power, creating governance concerns for minority shareholders. Inter recently opened a state-licensed branch in Miami to serve US customers directly. The company maintains a cost of funding at 66% of Brazil's interbank rate, providing a structural advantage over competitors.
Inter & Co. Inc. reported Q2 earnings of $0.19 per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.17 per share and surpassing year-ago earnings of $0.13 per share. This represents an earnings surprise of 11.77%. The company posted revenues of $521.81 million for the quarter ended June 2026, exceeding the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 1.95%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $353.55 million. Despite the positive results, Inter & Co. shares have declined approximately 32.8% year-to-date, whilst the S&P 500 has gained 13%. The company currently holds a Zacks Rank of 3 (Hold), suggesting shares are expected to perform in line with the market near term.
Inter&Co reported record results for the second quarter of 2026, achieving what it calls the "Rule of 50" — a combination of revenue growth and return on equity exceeding 50%. The Brazilian fintech posted net income of $81 million, up 34% quarter-over-quarter. Total net revenue reached $509.5 million, growing approximately 32% year-over-year. The company's return on equity hit 16.3%, validating its technology-driven growth model. The efficiency ratio reached a record low of 42%, with expenses growing 19% year-over-year, outpaced by the 32% revenue increase. Inter&Co's credit portfolio expanded 29% year-over-year, whilst loans per active client grew 11%. The digital bank now serves over 45 million customers. Chief executive João Vitor Menin said the company's growth will increasingly be funded by profitability rather than external capital.
Inter has launched wearable payment devices in the US, introducing the Inter Ring and Inter Wristband. The devices use passive NFC technology to enable contactless payments without requiring a screen, battery, or phone. The Inter Ring comes in five colours: gold, silver, rose, black, and grey. The Inter Wristband is available in black, orange, and white. Both are water-resistant and activated through the Inter App. Payments made through the wearables function as an extension of customers' existing Inter credit cards, sharing the same limit and due date. Transactions use tokenization and encryption, with all purchases appearing on a single statement. The wearables are initially available to select Inter customers, with broader availability planned for later in 2026. Inter serves more than 44 million customers worldwide.
