Iteris launches VantageNode quad-camera AI detection system for smaller intersections

Iteris has launched VantageNode, an AI-powered intersection detection solution designed for small and underserved intersections. The system features a single-mount, quad-camera architecture that provides comprehensive vehicle, pedestrian and bicycle detection whilst reducing installation complexity and costs. The compact solution addresses budget and infrastructure constraints that have prevented many smaller intersections from deploying advanced sensor technology. Its four independently configurable cameras provide dedicated views of each intersection approach, avoiding distortion issues common in fisheye systems. Powered by proprietary AI models, VantageNode supports signal actuation, counting and performance monitoring in challenging conditions. The single-pole deployment minimises labour requirements and lane closures. The solution includes access to Iteris' ClearGuide traffic analytics platform for data collection and performance analysis.

Iteris launches VantageNode(TM) to expand high-quality AI detection to small and underserved intersections. New single-mount, quad-camera solution simplifies deployment and provides lower-cost but powerful solution to manage less complex intersections. May 19, 2026 10:00 ET | Source: Iteris, Inc. AUSTIN, Texas, May 19, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Iteris, Inc., the world's trusted technology ecosystem for smart mobility infrastructure management and part of the Almaviva Group, today announced the launch of Iteris VantageNode(TM), a compact, AI-powered intersection detection solution designed to deliver high-performance vehicle, pedestrian, and bicycle detection at small, underserved, and less complex intersections. "VantageNode reflects Iteris' commitment to bringing reliable, high-quality detection to every intersection, regardless of size or complexity," "By combining advanced AI, purpose-built camera hardware, and a simplified installation model, VantageNode gives agencies the chance to improve safety and..." Many smaller intersections continue to operate with limited or aging detection due to budget constraints, infrastructure challenges, or high installation costs. VantageNode addresses these gaps with a new single-mount, quad-camera architecture that provides broad approach coverage from one mounting location - significantly reducing installation complexity, wiring requirements and long-term maintenance needs. This brings AI detection to intersections that historically could not support advanced sensor technology. "VantageNode reflects Iteris' commitment to bringing reliable, high-quality detection to every intersection, regardless of size or complexity," said Will Cousins, chief product officer at Iteris. "By combining advanced AI, purpose-built camera hardware, and a simplified installation model, VantageNode gives agencies the chance to improve safety and operations at far more intersections, without the burden of expensive infrastructure or complex installs." VantageNode integrates four independently configurable cameras within a single sensor. This design provides dedicated views of each intersection approach, delivering clarity and accuracy at the stop bar while reducing the distortion and edge-view tradeoffs often associated with fisheye or panoramic solutions. Powered by proprietary AI models trained on diverse intersection imagery, VantageNode supports reliable multimodal detection for signal actuation, counting, and performance monitoring. The system has been tested successfully through early adopter deployments and field testing across multiple real-world intersections and is engineered to perform consistently in low-light, rural, and challenging environmental conditions. The single pole deployment model also significantly reduces labor requirements, minimizes lane closures, and streamlines long-term upkeep - helping agencies extend reliable AI-powered detection to more intersections with simple installation and a lower total cost of ownership. As part of the VantageNode solution, Iteris will include access to ClearGuide(R), its traffic analytics platform, enabling built-in data collection and performance analysis to support planning, reporting, and funding initiatives. Iteris VantageNode is available now. For more information, visit the Iteris website. About Iteris, Inc. Iteris to Deploy LA Metro's Countywide Cloud-Based Transit Signal Priority Program

Iteris to deploy LA Metro's countywide cloud-based Transit Signal Priority program. Iteris to provide LA Metro with design, integration, and operational support for countywide TSP system across 13 major corridors. February 24, 2026 10:00 ET | Source: Iteris, Inc. SANTA ANA, Calif., Feb. 24, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Iteris, Inc., the world's trusted technology ecosystem for smart mobility infrastructure management, today announced it has joined forces with JMDiaz, Inc. and LYT to support the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) in deploying a countywide cloud-based Transit Signal Priority (TSP) system across 13 major corridors in Los Angeles County. Iteris was awarded over $2 million for its role in this transformative project. Iteris is working with JMDiaz to provide design services, integration, testing, and operational support for the new cloud-based TSP system, LYT.Transit, which will be implemented at over 320 signalized intersections. This initiative builds on the success of LA Metro's earlier Inglewood pilot project, in which Iteris also played a key role, and represents a significant step toward improving bus speed, schedule reliability, and overall transit performance throughout the region. The 30-month project - comprising a 12-month design phase followed by 18 months of operations and maintenance - is underway and expected to be completed by October 2027. The deployment will leverage existing on-board automatic vehicle location systems, fiber optic communications, deployment of wireless communication systems, advanced traffic controllers, and the LYT.Transit TSP solution to provide transit signal priority, reduce congestion, and enhance passenger satisfaction for Metro riders. The 13 major corridors enhanced by this project include: Atlantic Blvd, Broadway Ave, Central Ave, Main St, Garvey Ave, Whittier Blvd, Slauson Ave, Florence Ave, Firestone Blvd, Long Beach Blvd, Santa Monica Blvd, Hawthorne Blvd, and Crenshaw Blvd. "We are proud to partner with all stakeholders to help LA Metro significantly expand and advance the TSP infrastructure throughout Los Angeles County," said Steven Bradley, senior vice president of mobility professional services at Iteris. "Having supported Metro in the successful pilot project, we are excited to scale this TSP approach countywide to improve transit efficiency and reliability for thousands of riders."
