JMA Wireless receives $43.9M for ORU development

The Biden administration awarded $273 million in federal funding for ORU hardware development through the Wireless Innovation Fund. JMA Wireless received $43.9 million to develop the American Ruggedized Modular O-RAN Radio (ARMOR) platform, which supports energy-efficient Open Radio Unit variants. This initiative aims to enhance U.S. innovation and global leadership in wireless networks as part of the CHIPs and Science Act, which will distribute $1.5 billion over the next decade.
