Jazz and iTecknologi partner to launch Drivver, a modern & game changing ride-hailing platform.

Jazz and iTecknologi partner to launch Drivver, a modern & game changing ride-hailing platform. September 1, 2026 Jazz, Pakistan's leading connectivity provider from JazzWorld, has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with iTecknologi to support the launch of Drivver, a modern ride-hailing platform that will bring together mobility, connectivity, digital payments and financial services within a single integrated ecosystem. The partnership combines Jazz's nationwide connectivity, digital reach, distribution capabilities and JazzCash's financial ecosystem with iTecknologi's expertise in connected mobility, IoT, fleet technology and large-scale operational execution. Drivver will offer a range of mobility options, including cars, motorcycles and rickshaws, providing users with convenient and accessible transportation choices. A key feature of the platform will be its accessibility for riders and drivers on the Jazz network without consuming their mobile data. This will enable users to book, accept and manage rides without requiring a separate internet package for the application, helping make digital mobility more accessible for young people, students, gig workers and drivers. JazzCash will support digital payments across the Drivver ecosystem, providing greater convenience and transparency for riders and drivers. For drivers operating primarily in cash, the platform will also help establish a digital financial footprint and support greater participation in Pakistan's formal financial ecosystem. Eligible users may further be connected with relevant microfinance and other financial products, subject to applicable eligibility and regulatory requirements. Commenting on the partnership, Shahzad Rasheed, President Enterprise Solutions, JazzWorld, said, "This partnership brings together mobility, connectivity and digital financial services at national scale. Drivver will create an opportunity to leverage Jazz's digital capabilities to make everyday mobility more accessible while enabling drivers, young people and consumers to participate more deeply in Pakistan's digital economy. We are excited to bring this proposition to market." Under the partnership, iTecknologi will lead Drivver's technology, product innovation and operational execution, while Jazz will support the platform through its nationwide connectivity, digital infrastructure and distribution capabilities. Salman Hussain, Founder and CEO of iTecknologi, said,"Drivver is not being built as another ride-hailing application. We are challenging the way ride-hailing works in Pakistan. Free access to the application on the Jazz network, digital payments through JazzCash, better economics for drivers and access to a wider financial ecosystem fundamentally change the proposition, and we believe it can change the ride-hailing industry." On the commercial side, Drivver is designed around a transparent, fixed-cost model for drivers rather than a growing percentage-based commission, an approach intended to let drivers keep more of what they earn as their work grows. This lower cost of doing business also naturally supports more affordable journeys for riders. Riders will also be able to take advantage of introductory offers at launch, with full commercial details to be announced closer to rollout. Designed around the needs of Pakistan's young and increasingly digital population, Drivver aims to offer riders a more connected mobility experience, while creating new earning opportunities for drivers and providing greater access to financial services. Dedicated teams from Jazz and iTecknologi are now working towards Drivver's market rollout, with the platform expected to launch in the near future. The company invested PKR 29.2 billion during the period to strengthen Pakistan's digital infrastructure and expand network capacity. During 2Q26, the revenue increased 25.3% YoY to PKR 139.4 billion, which reflects continued growth across connectivity and digital services. During the quarter, JazzWorld invested PKR 20.4 billion, up 27.4% YoY, primarily reflecting the start of Jazz's 5G rollout following its recent spectrum acquisition. Complementing these investments, VEON announced in July the acquisition of a 76.33% stake in TPL Insurance for approximately USD 16.4 million, adding digital insurance to JazzWorld's financial services ecosystem and creating new opportunities to expand insurance access by combining TPL Insurance's underwriting capabilities with the scale of JazzCash and Mobilink Bank. JazzCash continued to strengthen its leadership in Pakistan's digital financial services landscape, serving more than 60 million users. Its Gross Transaction Value (LTM) increased 67.5% YoY to PKR 19.6 trillion, while the platform issued more than 224,000 digital loans daily during the quarter. Its active merchants exceeded 735,000, supported by a network of more than one million Raast QR-enabled merchants. During the quarter, JazzCash and Mobilink Bank launched Treasury Bill investments through the JazzCash app, enabling eligible customers to invest in Pakistan government securities and broadening access to formal financial markets. JazzCash was also recognized among the World's Top Fintech Companies 2026 by CNBC and Statista in the Payments category. Across JazzWorld's digital ecosystem, Tamasha maintained approximately 70% market share during the Pakistan Super League season before closing the quarter with 38.7 million active users. SIMOSA, JazzWorld's digital self-care and lifestyle platform, reached 33.8 million active users and ROX crossed 3.3 million active users, while FikrFree reached 17.9 million policyholders, reflecting continued demand for JazzWorld's digital platforms throughout the quarter. Commenting on the results, Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of JazzWorld, said: "JazzWorld's strong performance in the first half of 2026 reflects its continued evolution into Pakistan's leading integrated digital ServiceCo. Our DO1440 and AI1440 strategy is shaping the next phase of JazzWorld's growth as we scale digital services, strengthen intelligent infrastructure, and deliver innovative solutions that expand access to connectivity, financial services, and digital experiences across Pakistan. As Pakistan's digital economy evolves, we remain committed to driving innovation, accelerating digital inclusion, and enabling a Better Life for All through technology."
