Financial terms were not disclosed. Founded in 1998, SMS provides process hazard analysis, energetic material testing, facility design for explosives operations, OSHA compliance and risk management services to commercial clients and government agencies including national laboratories. The company also manufactures testing equipment for energetic materials and has completed projects across the US, Europe, the Middle East, India, South Korea and Australia. The acquisition marks Jensen Hughes' second deal in 2025. The company, which operates from over 100 offices globally with 1,800 staff, is backed by middle-market private investment firm Gryphon Investors.
