HPE has launched its first product combining Juniper and Aruba technologies: the HPE Networking 723H, a Wi-Fi 7 access point with AI-powered "self-driving" capabilities. The device can be managed through either Aruba Central or Juniper's Mist platform. The self-driving features use AI to autonomously handle network tasks including scanning radio frequencies to avoid restricted bands, optimising capacity during large gatherings, detecting VLAN mismatches, and neutralising rogue DHCP servers. The technology allows administrators to remain in the loop whilst AI handles routine maintenance. HPE's marketing lead Jeff Aaron noted the company delivered a unified product within months of closing the Juniper acquisition, contrasting this with Cisco's multi-year integration of its own Wi-Fi with Meraki. The cloud-based system draws on decades of data from both HPE and Juniper.
ScienceMachine, a London-based AI startup, raised a $3.5M pre-seed round led by Revent and Nucleus Capital. Their AI agent, Sam, automates biotech data analysis, acting as a 24/7 bioinformatician. This innovation accelerates scientific discovery by processing data faster and cheaper than traditional methods. The funding will support product development and hiring, with plans to expand into larger companies. Early customers report significant time and cost savings.
The Justice Department has filed a lawsuit to block Hewlett Packard Enterprise's $14 billion acquisition of Juniper Networks. The lawsuit claims the merger would reduce competition, raise prices, and hinder innovation. This move is unexpected as it comes shortly after Donald Trump's inauguration, with many anticipating a more lenient approach to mergers. HPE and Juniper are the second- and third-largest U.S. providers of WLAN products and services for businesses.
The Department of Justice has filed an antitrust lawsuit to block Hewlett Packard Enterprise's (HPE) $14.5 billion acquisition of Juniper Networks, citing reduced competition in wireless technology. The lawsuit, the first under President Trump, follows regulatory approval from the U.K. HPE plans to fund the deal with $9.5 billion in borrowing and $2.1 billion from a stake sale. HPE's stock fell after the announcement.
Used by more than one million developers at companies such as LinkedIn, PayPal and Verizon, Lightbend’s platform Akka helps its users handle billions of transactions at massive scale in their cloud-native systems. The company has offices in San Francisco, Lausanne and Uppsala and was co-founded by EPFL professor Martin Odersky.
