Kardex with strong order intake but lower profitability.

Kardex with strong order intake but lower profitability. Kardex recorded a significant increase in order intake in the first half of 2026. 29.07.2026 22:20 Profitability declined sharply due to a weak phase in the Automated Products segment (Kardex Remstar). Order intake rose by 26 percent to €571.5 million, while sales increased by 6 percent to €440.5 million, as Kardex announced on Thursday. The Automated Products segment (Kardex Remstar) suffered from weak order intake at the beginning of the year, delays in larger projects, and underutilization of production capacities. This reduced the group's EBIT by 38 percent to €30.1 million, corresponding to an EBIT margin of 6.8%, as announced in a profit warning in June. The Standardized Systems segment, on the other hand, grew dynamically: sales rose by 43 percent to €189.7 million, driven mainly by Kardex AS Solutions. Compared to analysts' expectations, the figures were slightly positive overall - order intake, total sales, EBIT, and net profit were all above or near consensus; only Kardex Remstar's sales missed expectations and were near the lower end of the range. For the full year 2026, Kardex expects sales and order growth of 15 to 20 percent and an EBIT margin of 8 to 10 percent, and confirms the medium-term sales target of €1.5 billion for 2029 to 2031 with an EBIT margin of 10 to 14 percent.

Kardex launches PortScale weighing solution in Australia.

Kardex launches PortScale weighing solution in Australia. Thursday, 30 July, 2026 AutoStore partner Kardex recently unveiled its new SmartWorkStation, combining its Intuitive Picking Assistant (IPA) with the new PortScale precision weighing solution, at CeMAT Australia 2026 in June. Kardex says that PortScale enhances the AutoStore ecosystem by bringing high-precision, real-time, weight-based process automation to AutoStore ports. Amid growing pressure on businesses in APAC to meet rising customer expectations, address labour shortages and increase order volumes, it's more important than ever to optimise warehouse operations. Designed for high throughput warehouses, PortScale integrates weight measurement directly into the AutoStore port, detecting picking errors. By automating critical verification processes, it aims to help businesses increase confidence in orders, while reducing manual intervention. PortScale is designed specifically for AutoStore ports and employs multiple weight sensors integrated into the port shelf to enable real-time bin weighing and automated item-count verification with the Kardex ScaleManager. Kardex's PortScale integration workstation combines with technologies including the Kardex Intuitive Picking Assistant (IPA), barcode scanning, computer vision, data capture for track-and-trace and weight-based verification to deliver accurate and efficient replenishment and picking. Continuously measuring bin weight ensures picking errors are detected quickly to maintain accurate inventory data, cut shrinkage rates and reduce the need for manual counting, allowing warehouse teams to focus on higher-value tasks while maintaining consistently high fulfilment quality. "At Kardex we work closely with AutoStore and our customers to develop solutions to real-world challenges and extend the capabilities of AutoStore," said Freddy Zhong, Kardex Regional Director Business Development AutoStore, Asia Pacific. "Innovation only matters if it creates measurable value for its customers, which is why every new technology ProcessOnline develop is designed to solve practical operational challenges. "CeMAT Australia gave visitors a great opportunity to experience our AutoStore innovations live and learn how we are pushing the boundaries of what AutoStore can achieve, with PortScale attracting significant interest during the event."
