Phasmophobia gets Quality of Life Part 2 on Steam.

Phasmophobia gets Quality of Life Part 2 on Steam. Kinetic Games released Phasmophobia's Quality of Life Part 2 on Steam on August 25, 2026, with smaller map variants and Journal, VR and evidence changes. Quality Of Life Restricted Maps Vr Evidence Tools Kinetic Games released Phasmophobia v0.19.0.0, Quality of Life Part 2, on Steam on August 25, 2026. Kinetic Games had announced August 25, 2026, for all platforms, but exact platform release times were still to be confirmed. The update adds smaller-area Restricted variants for Prison, Brownstone High School and Point Hope, alongside evidence, Journal, Custom Difficulty, VR, Spirit Box, death-feedback and map-entry changes. The official notes also say that a Custom Difficulty with a 0 multiplier no longer contributes to progress such as achievements and leaflets. Kinetic Games describes Restricted variants as smaller-area options intended to enable quicker games in larger locations. Point Hope Restricted is classed as a Small map and limits access to the Dining Room. Prison Restricted is classed as Small, while Brownstone High School Restricted is classed as Medium and is randomly assigned when a contract loads. Brownstone High School has four Restricted variants, with environmental decoration outside each variant identifying which version loaded. Video Cameras, Photo Cameras and Sound Recorders now indicate when captured evidence is a duplicate. Tier 1 Photo Cameras use a yellow LED for duplicate evidence, while Tier 2 and 3 Photo Cameras and all Video Camera tiers use faded text or an overlay. Tier 1 Sound Recorders dim their volume indicators, while Tier 2 and 3 Sound Recorders display faded sound waves for duplicate evidence. The multiplayer Journal now displays other players' Evidence and Ghost Type selections. The Journal's Keys section has been replaced by Items Gamers has Found, which records keys, the bone and seasonal event collectibles in discovery order. The Journal adds male-or-female icons beside Ghost names and highlights the Evidence required by a selected Ghost Type. Custom Difficulty investigations can now specify a Ghost Type, and doing so sets the difficulty multiplier to 0. These Restricted layouts give larger locations a smaller investigation footprint, while Brownstone's four variants add a random map choice within the same site. The duplicate markers reduce the chance of treating a repeated camera or recorder capture as new evidence. Shared Journal selections reduce the need for multiplayer teams to cross-check each player's evidence and Ghost Type choices. The item page also turns keys, the bone and seasonal collectibles into a discovery-order record rather than a standalone Keys list. Selecting a Ghost Type can make a Custom Difficulty investigation more targeted, but its 0 multiplier removes progress toward achievements and leaflets. The update replaces the VR character rig across all platforms to target more responsive movement, better arm-length accuracy and improved character-model visuals when playing with VR users. Players using Text Voice Recognition Mode can interact with a Spirit Box without holding it. Dead players and their bodies now appear with greyer skin and misty eyes, including to other players while the player is dead. Voice chat now cuts out when the death animation reaches the death moment rather than when the animation ends. Unique video-evidence text was added for shower and fuse-box interactions. The Truck was moved closer to the main entrance on Brownstone High School and Prison. The VR changes are aimed at making body movement and other players' character models easier to read, while the death changes make the death moment and a dead teammate's state clearer. The Spirit Box and evidence-text changes address small interaction and identification ambiguities during a contract. Moving the Truck closer to the main entrance changes the entry logistics specifically on Brownstone High School and Prison. The official Steam patch notes still list several Restricted-map issues: low Ghost interaction counts at the Prison entrance, players getting caught on a Brownstone classroom chair, and placeable Equipment becoming lost on some new-map blockades. Further unresolved issues affect localized Video Camera text, persistent highlighted Evidence, Journal readability with FidelityFX Super Resolution 1.0, and inaccessible Bone or Fusebox spawns. VR issues include Head Gear falling off, blank VR character profile pictures in lobbies, and distorted ragdolls after death with Immersive Animations enabled. The cited official notes list these remaining issues but provide no follow-up fix date. The Steam post confirms the Steam release, but the available sources do not confirm whether PlayStation and Xbox received the update at exactly the same time. The official material leaves both the console rollout timing and the schedule for fixes to these issues unspecified. No official source in the ledger quantifies performance, load-time or disconnect-rate improvements. How Part 2 follows the July Quality of Life update. On July 21, 2026, v0.18.0.0 launched the reworked 13 Willow Street alongside the first Quality of Life update for 2026. The 13 Willow Street rework retained the original layout while adding a visual overhaul, new assets and props, repurposed rooms and edited room flow. The July Quality of Life update paired the 13 Willow Street rework with the first half of the 2026 rollout. That July Quality of Life update already introduced evidence and VR changes including separate EMF Level 5 photos, camera evidence-priority behavior, improved evidence detection and VR character improvements. Kinetic Games said the Quality of Life work was split into two updates because of the volume of planned fixes, changes and new features; the first was the larger July release and the second was planned for August.

Kinetic Publishing reveals exciting PS5 indie games lineup with 5 new titles.

Kinetic Publishing reveals exciting PS5 indie games lineup with 5 new titles. Hey it's Collins, with over six years of experience covering technology advancements across various industries I enjoy conversations regarding the future of technology in its society. Highlights. * Kinetic Publishing has revealed five upcoming indie games heading to PS5. * The lineup includes Contact Protocol, Crescent County, Shellbound, Aether Wizard Life and Precognition. * The games cover genres including horror, sci-fi, fantasy and simulation. * Releases are planned between 2027 and 2028. * Kinetic Publishing aims to support independent developers with wider game distribution. This year started on a good note for Kinetic Games as it established its own publishing label, Kinetic Publishing. According to the folks at Kinetic Publishing, their goal is to empower and support indie developers to create games that will be made available to a wide audience of gamers. In 2020, Kinetic Games launched Phasmophobia across PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam. This horror game became an instant success, selling over 27 million copies globally. Building on this success, Kinetic Publishing is now preparing to launch five more games that'll all be available on PS5. Details on these coming games were shared via the official PlayStation blog, and here is everything you need to know. What are the five games Kinetic Publishing is looking to launch? The five games coming to PS5 and other gaming platforms are Contact Protocol, Crescent County, Shellbound, Aether Wizard Life, and Precognition. These games will be launched on PS5 as well as other gaming platforms between 2027 and 2028. They cut across various genres from horror to sci-fi and even wizardry. Each game has its own story to tell; here is what to expect from each of these coming indie games that Kinetic Publishing is gearing up to bring to your screen. Contact Protocol. If you're in sync with space travel and sci-fi-related games, the Contact Protocol might just be your vibe. This game is said to launch on PS5 in Spring 2027. But what is it all about? According to Kinetic Publishing, this game tests your ability to make the right decisions when under pressure. Your role in this game is an administrator, and you're to assess and determine the intentions of incoming ships as you voyage to Jupiter's largest moon. You're given a record, which you're to compare with signals from incoming ships to determine whether they're friend or foe. Now that sounds like a game you can use to get your nerves racked up as each decision is life or death. Crescent County. Kinetic Publishing describes this game as oozing "good vibes", and if that's your vibe, then you can anticipate this one. Just like Contact Protocol, Crescent County will be released for play on PS5 in Spring 2026. This game is about finding home as players ride the isle on their flow-state motorbrooms. It's packed with gossip, local drama, flirty relationships, and so much more. Shellbound. Here, players are parasites living on a large snail and exploring its way through the snail. The snail's organs act as a labyrinth, and its biology reshapes the path available to players, hence making it more difficult to navigate. Being a parasite, players are to fight off the snail's internal defences, looking to eliminate them. This game will be made available on PS5 in Summer 2028. Aether Wizard Life. Kinetic Publishing says that this game combines town-building, platforming, and exploration with action-RPG combat, farming and dating. Now that sounds like a lot for an apprentice mage who aims to uncover the secrets of mysterious wizard kidnappings in the town of Starfall. Players are to pick daily tasks which are to be completed to proceed through the game's stages. This game will be available on PS5 in Autumn 2028. Precognition. Now, if horror is your thing, then Precognition is a game you should anticipate from Kinetic Publishing. Here, players determine how the story goes and face the consequences for their choices. Precognition will launch on PS5 in Spring 2028. It is worth noting that all five games were developed by independent indie developers but published by Kinetic Publishing The Latest

Crescent County revealed for Switch 2 with Summer 2027 window.

Crescent County revealed for Switch 2 with Summer 2027 window. Ride a motorbroom, courier packages, and street race in Kinetic Publishing's newly revealed open-world slice-of-life game, coming Summer 2027. Publisher Kinetic Publishing and developer Electric Saint have officially unveiled Crescent County, a witch-tech open-world slice-of-life game, targeting a Summer 2027 launch across multiple platforms. The game is confirmed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store. The PS5 and Switch 2 versions are newly announced. The reveal came during the first-ever Kinetic Publishing Showcase. Kinetic Publishing is a video game publishing newcomer that debuted its label with the event, partnering with UK-based studio Electric Saint. Kinetic Publishing is the publishing label of Kinetic Games, the UK-based developer behind the 27+ million-selling horror phenomenon Phasmophobia. Deliveries by day, street racing by night. Players step into the shoes of Lu, exploring the almost-universal experience of moving to a new place as a young adult. Set on the crescent-shaped, magical Isle of Mor, Lu navigates the growing pains of relocating by day-couriering parcels on a sci-fi inspired motorbroom and racing through the streets by night. During the day, players act as a motorbroom courier - delivering packages, herding sheep, and fixing leylines, helping locals and learning their struggles and drama. The island hides secret leyline shortcuts - flower-lined routes that weave through the undergrowth, rewarding players who learn the geography with faster deliveries and race times. After earning money, players can visit Bo's workshop to upgrade and customise their motorbroom - swapping parts to improve handling, top speed, or gliding ability, as well as applying Sigil Stickers for special powers like Dazzler and Leap. Relationships, races, and rebellious vibes. The racing side of the game is deliberately low-stakes. Creative Director Anna Hollinrake stated that the game "is centred around the idea of what it means to find your home," and that "the motorbroom driving isn't about time trials or leaderboards - it's about hanging out with your friends." Crescent County also features a relationship system where players build friendships and romances with the island's cast of characters - through night drives, bonfires on the beach, and rivals-to-lovers tension. Multiple romance options are available. The studio noted that "Crescent County has been a passion project since 2017, grounded in magical realism and my own lived experience." The game was inspired by creative director Anna Hollinrake's first big studio job, where she moved to the Isle of Wight. Kinetic Publishing and Cold Zephyr Games have announced Contact Protocol, a starship job simulator set in a gritty cassette-future full of spaceships and CRTs. Coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2027. Keep Watching Xsolla GB Live Video Watch More Revealed as part of Kinetic Publishing's first wave of titles at the Kinetic Publishing Showcase, Contact Protocol sees players take on the role of a security officer onboard the starship Pale Horse, a GalCo mining vessel setting course to Jupiter's largest moon. Players will have to assess the intentions of approaching ships, comparing the information they provide against company records, and determine whether they are friend or foe. However, this is no simple admin job; as discrepancies are interrogated and requests for information are sent, the unknown ship approaches ever closer. Uncertainty can lead to disaster for the Pale Horse if a passing ship means harm, but choose to fire torpedoes out of caution, and players can doom a ship full of innocents. All the while, the company is watching, with the threat of legal action looming if paperwork is mismanaged. "Contact Protocol is inspired by the simple premise that, when under pressure and inundated with information, people do not make good decisions!" said Mick Hunter, lead designer at Cold Zephyr Games, in a press release. "We've engineered the game so that the player's cognitive load is at its highest whenever they are faced with a difficult moral decision - and we want to challenge them to make choices that they won't regret later down the line. It's about towing the line between doing the job, and doing the right thing." Contact Protocol Features: * Investigate, Interrogate, Engage: Cross-reference incoming data bursts against company records, prod for answers to explain discrepancies, and destroy incoming ships that don't meet the mark * Multi-task: Fix contact frequencies, check hull images, and recover corrupted data - all while answering comms * Choices matter: Player decisions will affect your relationships with the crew and their narratives, and will have knock-on effects throughout the solar system * Procedural starships: No two encounters will be the same, and no outcome can be predicted * A painted universe: Discover a striking sci-fi world as sketchy and hard-edged as the game's distinct art style Contact Protocol will launch on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2027.

Precognition, A new horror from Sam Barlow And Brandon Cronenberg, is confirmed for Switch 2.

Precognition, A new horror from Sam Barlow And Brandon Cronenberg, is confirmed for Switch 2. "We've pushed ourselves even harder" Kinetic Publishing and Half Mermaid Productions have announced Precognition, a new horror game from Sam Barlow, creator of Immortality and Her Story, and Brandon Cronenberg, director of films such as Possessor and Infinity Pool. Originally teased as 'Project C', Precognition follows in the footsteps of Immortality by presenting a non-linear FMV story in which you follow Diana, a woman who is able to view visions of the future after an experimental implant is embedded into her brain. You'll have to explore these visions and commit specific moments to Diana's memory in the present day, thus potentially altering the future. It's confirmed for Switch 2, but we've unfortunately got a bit of a long wait on our hands with this one. Precognition is targeting a release in Spring 2028. Here's what creator Sam Barlow had to say: "We've really been trying to test the limits of non-linear storytelling, focusing on how the game feels to play, while encouraging player agency and freedom. We've pushed ourselves even harder with Precognition by bringing the feel of investigation and mystery games into a world of cause-and-effect, with a story that spins out as a consequence of your choices." And Brandon Cronenberg also chimed in with the following: "The films I make tend to be subjective and experiential, with the horror emerging as one person's perspective of the world warps around them. The games that Sam and the team have made over the years are subjective experiences by their very nature - no two people will have the same experience with them. So it's the perfect place to explore these themes further". We're very curious to see more from Precognition in the months ahead, but in the meantime, how about a Switch 2 port for Immortality and Her Story, hmm?
