2026 Craft + Commerce: 5 new Kit features to better connect with your subscribers. I just got back from Craft + Commerce 2026 - where Kit announced five new features - and I'm excited to share what I heard. (I've also taken approximately four naps since Saturday. The conference hangover is real.) Here's what dropped: 01 | Kit MCP (model context protocol). Kit now connects to Claude and ChatGPT, which means you can ask Kit strategic questions about your list. Things like: "Which emails have I mentioned this product in?" or "Who clicked on this tag in the last 30 days?" It pulls the data straight from your Kit account - no manual digging required. 02 | Subscriber Signals. This one's for service providers specifically, and it was Kit founder Nathan Barry's personal favorite announcement. Subscriber Signals pulls in data about your subscribers - industry, social platforms, audience size - so you can identify your warmest potential leads without researching each one by hand. For smaller lists, it could easily save more in team time (and generate more in direct sales follow-up) than it costs. Available on Kit Pro. 03 | new landing page editor. Kit's landing page builder got a full redesign - cleaner, more intuitive, and live now! Kit has a new marketplace advertising model where brands can find and connect with creators directly for newsletter sponsorships. It's early, and sponsor options are still growing, but it's a real potential revenue stream for creators who want more say in who shows up in their emails. 05 | GRO. Grocers List is now GRO, and it integrates natively with Kit. If you're driving social traffic into DMs to build your list, that whole flow now lives inside Kit. Kit was upfront that some of these are still rolling out and feedback is welcome - which is part of why I keep recommending them. Not on Kit yet? Get 30 days free on Kit's Creator Plan. P.S. I'm a proud affiliate of Kit - and have been a happy user since 2017. There are affiliate links in this email, which means I will receive a small commission if you choose to sign up using any of them (at no additional cost to you!). If you enjoyed this episode, you can show your support by leaving a review, subscribing, or sharing your biggest takeaways on your Instagram story! Frequently asked questions: top email and text marketing platform picks. 1. What exactly is an integrated email and text marketing platform? An integrated platform is a unified software solution that allows marketing teams to design, execute, automate, and analyze promotional campaigns across both email and SMS channels from a single dashboard. This synchronization ensures that user behavior data is shared across channels, preventing redundant messaging, enabling highly complex behavioral triggers, and creating a cohesive customer journey. For publishers and independent creators focusing strictly on newsletter distribution and audience monetization, beehiiv and Kit are universally recognized as top choices. They provide specialized, native tools for managing premium subscriber paywalls, facilitating one-click referral programs, processing digital product sales, and integrating seamlessly with external advertising networks. 3. What are the most critical email marketing software features to prioritize during evaluation? When evaluating software, prioritize platforms that offer an intuitive, glitch-free drag-and-drop HTML editor, visual automation workflow builders capable of conditional logic, granular behavioral segmentation tools, and highly reliable deliverability infrastructures. Additionally, modern platforms must include robust analytics dashboards and, increasingly, AI-driven predictive targeting capabilities. 4. What is the absolute best email platform for small businesses operating on a strict budget? Moosend offers exceptional, enterprise-grade automation features and web tracking at a remarkably low entry price point, making it an incredible value. Alternatively, for businesses with zero initial budget, Brevo provides a highly functional free tier that allows unlimited contact storage and basic multi-channel marketing, enabling startups to build their audience before incurring ongoing software costs. 5. Does incorporating SMS marketing actually yield a measurable ROI? Absolutely. SMS marketing continues to deliver unparalleled engagement metrics, boasting open rates that consistently exceed 90% within minutes of delivery. When intelligently synchronized with traditional email campaigns via a centralized platform, SMS serves as a highly effective, high-urgency channel specifically tailored for flash sales, critical event notifications, and immediate abandoned cart recovery, driving significant, measurable revenue. Kit launches most complete email MCP for creators across AI platforms. Creators can now analyze audiences, draft broadcasts, and trigger workflows without leaving ChatGPT or Claude Boise, Idaho | May 19 2026 - Kit, the leading email marketing platform for creators, today announced a major update to its platform - the Kit Model Context Protocol (MCP) - allowing creators to connect and run their account, not just read it, directly inside AI platforms, including Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini. With this launch, Kit becomes the first platform of its kind to give creators full read and write access across AI tools. Creators can now analyze subscriber insights, draft newsletters and broadcasts, build email sequences, tag subscribers, manage audiences, and trigger automated workflows directly inside AI conversations. With the Kit MCP, creators can run what used to take them multiple weeks into one single chat in a matter of minutes. For instance, creators can ask AI to analyze thousands of their past newsletters, which of their newsletters performed best based on purchase intent, and turn them into a welcome sequence all in the same conversation. The insight and the action happen in one place, with the creator in control of every move. As creators increasingly rely on AI tools to support and run their businesses, most workflows remain fragmented, requiring users to manually export subscriber data, paste information into chat windows, and switch between platforms to take action. In a recent Kit-led survey of 550 creators, 72 percent said they use AI tools multiple times per week, while more than half said the most valuable AI features would help them build automations, tag subscribers based on behavior, and analyze performance data. The Kit MCP was built to close this gap, allowing creators to move from insight to execution in one easy workflow. "Kit's MCP supersedes all of the technical setup I've built over many months," said Dan Cumberland, founder of an AI systems company and Kit creator. "It's saving me nearly three hours a week and unlocking analyses I literally couldn't run before. This is incredible for my business." This recent update gives creators control at every step, including when to connect and what to authorize. Users can revoke access at any time, and nothing happens inside their Kit account without approval. "As a creator myself, I've seen how quickly AI has become part of the creative process, from brainstorming ideas to refining messaging and launching products," said Nathan Barry, founder and CEO of Kit. "But creators shouldn't have to piece together disconnected tools and workflows to make it valuable. We built the Kit MCP so creators can spend less time managing systems and more time connecting with their communities and building sustainable businesses." Founded by creator and entrepreneur Nathan Barry, Kit has grown into a bootstrapped company valued at more than $300 million, powering over 550,000 creators worldwide, including bestselling authors, podcasters, educators, and independent publishers such as James Clear, Jenna Kutcher, and Emma Grede. The Kit MCP is available now in open beta as part of Kit's 14-day free trial as well as its Creator and Pro Plans. Learn more at kit.com/ai/mcp. Founded in 2013, Kit is the leading email marketing platform that helps professional creators build businesses that serve their audience - not algorithms. With features for newsletters, automation, and built-in monetization like subscriptions and courses, Kit helps creators turn their audience into recurring and reliable revenue. Today, Kit powers over 550k creators worldwide, from bestselling authors to podcast hosts to independent publishers, including notable names like James Clear, Matthew McConaughey, Jenna Kutcher, and Emma Grede.
