Rakuten's Kobo eReader has integrated with StoryGraph, a reading tracker platform, allowing users to automatically sync their reading progress and habits. The integration, announced in May and now live, makes Kobo the first eReader to partner with StoryGraph's book community platform. The move challenges Amazon's Kindle-Goodreads ecosystem, which has historically dominated digital book tracking through seamless device integration. When users finish books on Kobo devices, they're automatically marked as "Read" on StoryGraph, updating reading statistics for both ebooks and audiobooks. Founded in 2019 by Nadia Odunayo and Rob Frelow, StoryGraph has grown to over five million readers without outside funding. The platform offers detailed analytics on reading moods, pace and habits, plus community features like reading challenges and book clubs. The integration brings StoryGraph to Kobo's 12 million users across 190 countries.
When it comes to e-readers, there are quite a few across the market, and the Nia is Kobo's lowest costing option
