The service handles refills for stable patients on maintenance medications like SSRIs and Wellbutrin but does not diagnose, prescribe new medications or adjust doses. The AI conducts safety checks for side effects, drug interactions and warning signs before approving refills. Cases flagged as concerning are routed to human clinicians, who can be requested at any time. The rollout requires doctor approval for the first 250 prescriptions, with subsequent review systems in place. Founded in 2021, Legion Health cites provider shortages and high costs as key drivers, noting 40% to 50% of patients don't consistently take psychiatric medications as prescribed.

GD Ventures, an early-stage startup investor, has completed a pre-Series A investment in Legion Health, a US-based telehealth clinic. The investment amount was not disclosed. Next Coast Ventures joined as a new investor alongside existing backer Y Combinator. Founded by Princeton University roommates, Legion Health addresses America's 60-day average wait time for psychiatric care through a full-stack telemedicine model. The company manages the entire medical process directly, enabling patients to receive treatment at home as early as the day after registration. Legion Health has integrated AI technology across its entire workflow, from booking and screening to consultations and billing, eliminating administrative bottlenecks in the healthcare system.
