Leopardo Construction adds VP of operations in Ohio office. February 6, 2026 Leopardo Construction hired Eric Dey as Vice President of Operations for its Ohio office in Cleveland. In his role, Dey will oversee operational strategy, project execution, and team development across Ohio, supporting Leopardo's expanding regional footprint while strengthening relationships with clients, trade partners, and industry stakeholders. Dey brings more than two decades of construction leadership experience, most recently serving as Vice President of Construction Services at TriMark SS Kemp & Co., where he oversaw all construction operations, led multidisciplinary teams, and managed more than $100 million in annual backlog across hundreds of projects. His background includes executive-level oversight of operations, budgeting, contract negotiations, process development, and team mentorship, with a strong emphasis on delivering consistent, high-quality outcomes. Prior to that, Dey spent a decade with The Albert M. Higley Co., where he specialized in leading high-dollar, highly complex healthcare construction projects throughout Ohio. His portfolio includes major hospital expansions, occupied-space renovations, and phased healthcare environments requiring extensive coordination, safety planning, and stakeholder alignment. He is a Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) and an active member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE). Leopardo has already established a strong foundation in Ohio with the successful delivery of 1060 Bolivar, a multifamily residential community in downtown Cleveland, and 45 Erieview, a large-scale office-to-residential conversion that required extensive coordination and adaptive reuse expertise. The firm is also preparing to break ground on Belle Oaks, a highly anticipated class-A, multi-family and mixed-use development in Richmond Heights.
Leopardo Construction breaks ground on 52-unit affordable-housing development in Chicago's Humboldt Park. Leopardo Construction, in partnership with Ujamaa Construction, recently broke ground on The Ave., a 52-unit mixed-use affordable housing development at 3601 W. Chicago Ave. in Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood. The May 16 groundbreaking ceremony was attended by key members of Leopardo's construction team, representatives from Ujamaa, members of the Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH) and its partner, KMW Communities, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, Congressman Danny Davis, and 27th Ward Alderman Walter Burnett Jr. The four-story development will include one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments as well as a fitness center, bike room, indoor and outdoor community gathering spaces, onsite parking, and approximately 1,000 square feet of retail space. The Ave. will also support efforts to revitalize and strengthen the Humboldt Park community by bringing high-quality, affordable housing and amenities to an area in need of both. With a proven track record in delivering high-profile developments, Leopardo brings extensive expertise to affordable housing projects across the Chicago area and the Midwest. In addition to The Ave., Leopardo has served as general contractor on several significant projects including Sheffield of Lincoln Park, Prospect Senior Lofts, Canvas at Leland Plaza, and Encuentro Square. With construction on The Ave. beginning this spring, completion is anticipated in fall 2026.
Chicago's Leopardo adds director of business development, healthcare specialist. Chicago's Leopardo added Bethanie Smith as Director of Business Development, National Healthcare Market. With more than 15 years of experience in sales, marketing, consulting, and customer success, Smith will play a key role in driving growth and expanding Leopardo's relationships in these core markets on a national level. Smith joins Leopardo from Ryan Fireprotection, where she successfully generated and nurtured leads, developed contract proposals, and managed accounts for both prospective and existing clients. Prior to that, she served as Director of Client Experience at Teamshares, advising over eighty businesses on organizational structure, communication strategies, compensation, and financial management. Smith's expertise in business development, relationship-building, and strategic consulting make her an invaluable addition to Leopardo's growing team. Leopardo's continued expansion reflects its commitment to delivering tailored, high-quality construction solutions across a wide range of industries, including healthcare, senior living, residential, corporate office, aviation, retail, and hospitality. With a growing national presence, the company remains focused on building lasting client relationships and driving industry-leading innovation.
Leopardo announced it will open a brand-new eatery in the former Doner Haus restaurant on West Nile Street in the city centre on Thursday, March 6.
Leopardo tapped Todd Welch as its new financial head, according to the release.
