Levisonics

Levisonics

Non-contact rheometry platform for blood analysis

Overview

Levisonics is building a platform called acoustic tweezing rheometry to analyze liquids non-contactly from a small sample (a drop of blood). The system measures how a sample coagulates, polymerizes, or flows (rheology) by applying acoustic forces to the drop and observing its deformation, enabling fast, safe, and comprehensive assessment of bleeding and thrombotic risks in neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients. It can also function as real-time quality control for food, liquids, and gels during manufacturing. Compared with competitors, Levisonics emphasizes non-contact measurement, very small sample volumes, and the ability to deliver rapid results for both clinical risk assessment and manufacturing QC. The company’s goal is to provide a practical, non-invasive tool for predicting bleeding/thrombosis risk and ensuring product quality in real time across medical and industrial settings.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • NIH awarded Levisonics $299,000 on March 9, 2026 for hemophilia monitoring.
  • Work and Learn Indiana listed 2026 fall internships in biomedical, electrical, mechanical, and AI/ML.
  • MTEC highlighted Levisonics on August 5, 2026, strengthening visibility with defense and pediatric buyers.

What critics are saying

  • Levisonics lacks disclosed commercial revenue; grants from NIH, DoD, and MPDC fund operations.
  • Fishers hiring postings in 2026 signal heavy R&D burn before product-market validation.
  • If acoustic tweezing misses regulatory and reimbursement milestones, Levisonics becomes a grant-dependent science project.

What makes Levisonics unique

  • Levisonics targets low-volume, non-contact coagulation testing with acoustic tweezing technology.
  • Tulane and Boston University origins give it defensible academic credibility since 2016.
  • Its platform spans hemophilia, trauma, pediatrics, and anticoagulant monitoring across use cases.
