Lightspeed, Forest River launch integration for automated unit registration.

Lightspeed, Forest River launch integration for automated unit registration. 2 minutes read Lightspeed DMS announced the launch of a fully automated unit registration integration with Forest River. This marks the first fully automated OEM integration of its kind within the Lightspeed platform and represents a significant step forward in eliminating manual, redundant processes for dealers. This new feature will work for all Forest River brands, the company said. For years, Lightspeed has been building stronger integrations designed to make dealership operations simpler, faster and more connected. "Our mission has always been to simplify dealership operations and get rid of the redundant rekeying of information that slows our dealers down. This integration with Forest River is a perfect example of what that looks like in practice. Dealers do not have to do anything. The system handles it. This is the future of how OEMs and dealer management systems should work together, and we are proud to be setting that standard," said Jeremy Johnson, director of OEM business development for Lightspeed DMS. Unlike previous OEM integrations that require a dealer to initiate the registration process, the Forest River integration operates entirely in the background. Forest River will pull sales and customer data directly from Lightspeed on a daily basis and automatically register units on behalf of the dealer, with no additional steps, logins or data entry required. The integration is covered under existing Forest River dealer consent, making adoption immediate and seamless for current Lightspeed users. For dealers, the impact is immediate. Unit registration is one of the most time-consuming post-sale administrative tasks in the RV industry, often requiring staff to manually re-enter data that already exists in their DMS. This integration eliminates that redundancy entirely. "At Forest River, we are always looking for ways to make it easier for our dealers to focus on selling and servicing customers rather than managing paperwork. Our partnership with Lightspeed on this automated registration integration is a great example of two organizations working together to solve a real problem for dealers. We are excited to see the impact this has on the day-to-day operations of our dealer partners," said James Gingerich, director of business intelligence for Forest River. The launch of this integration follows Lightspeed's previously announced Major Unit Import partnership with Forest River and is part of the company's broader strategy to deepen its OEM integration network across the RV, powersports, marine, trailer and golf car industries. Lightspeed currently serves more than 4,500 dealers and maintains over 550 integrations across the outdoor recreation ecosystem. Forest River dealers using Lightspeed DMS will automatically benefit from this integration with no setup or additional cost required. To make that easier, Lightspeed created a dealer marketing prompt toolkit with 10 practical AI prompts built around common dealership marketing needs.

AI can be a powerful marketing tool, but for many dealerships, the hardest part is knowing where to start. That is where prompts come in. A prompt is simply the instruction you give an AI tool like ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or another platform. The better the prompt, the better the output. Instead of asking AI to "write a social post" or "help with marketing," dealers can get stronger results by giving the tool clear context, a specific goal, and details about their dealership, audience, season, inventory, or campaign. To make that easier, Lightspeed created a dealer marketing prompt toolkit with 10 practical AI prompts built around common dealership marketing needs. These prompts can help dealers brainstorm and build: * Seasonal inventory campaigns * Social media content ideas * Service department email campaigns * Demo day and open house strategies * Ad performance analysis * Trade-in and financing promotions * Google Ads campaigns * Online reputation and review strategies * Local SEO ideas for inventory pages * Trade show and expo follow-up plans The prompts are designed to be copied, customized, and used right away. Dealers can simply replace the bracketed fields with their own details, such as dealership type, unit type, target audience, market, event, or campaign goal. For example, a powersports dealer could use the seasonal inventory prompt to promote spring ATVs to off-road enthusiasts, while an RV dealer could adapt the same structure for winterization service reminders or a summer travel campaign. The key is context. AI performs better when it understands the dealership, the audience, the location, and the desired outcome. A prompt like "write a Facebook post" will produce generic copy. A prompt that says, "We are a three-location marine dealer in the Midwest promoting pontoon boats to families before Memorial Day weekend" will produce something far more useful. AI is not meant to replace dealership expertise. It is meant to help teams move faster, think through ideas, and create a stronger starting point. Dealers still need to review the output, adjust the tone, verify any claims, and make sure the final content reflects their brand and customer relationships. Used well, these prompts can help dealership teams save time, improve consistency, and bring fresh thinking to everyday marketing tasks. Whether you are planning an open house, trying to improve reviews, building an email campaign, or looking for new social content, AI can help turn a blank page into a better first draft. Download the toolkit here and try one prompt this week. Add your dealership details, review the results, and see how AI can help your marketing team move from idea to action faster. Lightspeed. Lightspeed launches integrated RevPay payments platform for dealerships.

Lightspeed launches integrated RevPay payments platform for dealerships. Lightspeed has introduced a new embedded payments platform designed to simplify payment processing and reporting for powersports dealerships by integrating those functions directly into its dealership management system (DMS). The Salt Lake City-based dealership software provider announced the launch of Lightspeed RevPay, a payments solution that combines payment processing, reconciliation, reporting and customer support within the Lightspeed DMS platform. The company says the new system is intended to eliminate the need for dealerships to manage multiple payment processors, terminals, funding portals and support providers, allowing staff to complete payment-related tasks from within the dealership management system they already use to run daily operations. "Dealerships don't need another payment processor. They need a payment experience that's built into the system they already rely on to run their business," says Brian Provost, CEO of Lightspeed. "With RevPay, we've transformed payments from a disconnected operational task into a connected part of the dealership workflow." According to Lightspeed, RevPay offers embedded payment processing, automatic reconciliation with real-time payment reporting, funding visibility and a single support channel for payment software, hardware and transaction-related questions. The platform also supports several modern payment methods, including tap-to-pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Click-to-Pay and remote payment requests. Lightspeed said the system includes PCI-compliant security features, fraud protection and surcharge capabilities that allow dealers to recover eligible payment processing costs where permitted. Additional products. Beyond standard payment processing, Lightspeed introduced two additional products under the RevPay umbrella. RevPay Click allows dealerships to request deposits, service payments and invoice balances through secure text or email payment links, enabling customers to complete transactions before or after visiting the dealership. Meanwhile, RevPay Gift and RevPay Gift Pro enable dealerships to launch customizable physical and digital gift card programs designed to encourage repeat business, generate prepaid revenue and support multi-store operations. Ethan Dysart of Dysart's Powersports said the integrated platform has streamlined his dealership's payment workflow. "As a Lightspeed dealer, Lightspeed RevPay has made a real difference for our dealership," Dysart says. "The payment process is much smoother for our staff, which saves them time, reduces duplicate data entry and errors, and ultimately helps us operate more efficiently and profitably." Lightspeed said RevPay is available for dealerships implementing Lightspeed DMS and is supported by the company's in-house customer service team.
