Ludo Robotics

Ludo Robotics

Develops general-purpose robotic intelligence for humanoids

Overview

Ludo Robotics is an AI and robotics lab focused on Physical AI to make humanoid robots that can interact with people. It combines robotics, perception, learning, and manipulation, and uses Krafton’s experience with game simulation, physics engines, and large virtual datasets to train and validate AI systems before real-world use. The company develops a general-purpose robotic “brain” for socially intelligent robots, aiming for robust, adaptive behavior in real-world scenarios rather than task-specific machines. It differentiates itself by leveraging Krafton’s data-heavy simulation tools and long-term funding, and through a strategic alliance with Hanwha Aerospace to explore Physical AI applications in defense and manufacturing. The goal is to create socially capable, autonomous humanoid robots that can operate reliably in everyday human environments and scalable, real-world deployments.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • August 2026 research showed Ludi 0.1 running on a functioning humanoid robot.
  • Ludo Robotics opened Seoul in July 2026 and is hiring across robotics disciplines.
  • Krafton and Hanwha's $1 billion fund expands capital access for robotics and defense partnerships.

What critics are saying

  • Ludi 0.1 remains early; by August 2026 it still tests on one humanoid.
  • Hanwha JV targets defense AI, exposing Ludo Robotics to export controls and procurement delays.
  • Krafton's reliance on one founder-led spinout creates existential key-person and capital concentration risk.

What makes Ludo Robotics unique

  • Krafton backs Ludo Robotics with game-simulation data and CEO Kim Chang-han leadership.
  • Ludi 0.1 combines dialogue, memory, navigation, and manipulation in one humanoid system.
  • Seoul and Palo Alto teams link robotics research with commercialization through Krafton-Hanwha channels.
