Luminance

AI-powered contract analytics and automation

Overview

Luminance provides AI-powered contract and legal document management as a SaaS platform for law firms and corporate legal teams. Its Legal-Grade AI, built on a specialized legal LLM and a Mixture of Experts called the Panel of Judges, analyzes documents to draft, negotiate, review, and manage contracts, with features like AI negotiation, an intelligent document repository, Ask Lumi, and Word integration. It differentiates itself by using domain-specific AI with multiple specialized models rather than a single general-purpose AI to improve accuracy and efficiency. Its goal is to streamline legal work, reduce manual review, and improve contract analysis across global corporate and law-firm customers.

The London-focused fixed broadband provider will use it to centralise contract intelligence, streamline its procurement operations, accelerate contract reviews and support its growth plans. The ISP's services are underpinned by a complex supply chain spanning civil engineering, technology, software and professional services. With a high volume of legal agreements requiring constant review, Community Fibre sought an AI-based solution to increase efficiency, standardise commercial positions and boost visibility across contractual obligations. "Since Community Fibre was founded, we've built a lean, fast-moving and highly adaptive culture," says Mike Brooman, Procurement Director at Community Fibre. "The Luminance team has also been outstanding throughout the process, constantly sharing expertise and ensuring we achieve maximum value from the platform." Driving procurement efficiency. Through the deployment of this platform, the company will secure greater visibility of commitments, renewals and obligations while reducing administrative overheads. The software will also assist with future due diligence and the frontline review of incoming supplier agreements. "Community Fibre is a fantastic example of a highly successful business embracing AI to support operational scale and efficiency," says Eleanor Lightbody, CEO at Luminance. "Their focus on creating a centralised source of contractual intelligence while empowering teams to move faster aligns perfectly with our mission to help organisations transform contracts from an administrative burden into strategic business assets." Luminance was created through the work of AI experts from the University of Cambridge and markets its AI agents as being 'Legal-Grade'. The operator offers speeds of up to 5Gbps for consumers and packages of up to 10Gbps for businesses. Bulla Dairy Foods selects AI platform for its contracting operations.

Bulla Dairy Foods selects AI platform for its contracting operations. Friday, 17 July, 2026 London-based business Luminance announced that Australian dairy company Bulla Dairy Foods has adopted its Legal-Grade AI platform to enhance contract negotiation, improve visibility across agreements and drive efficiency across its legal and procurement functions. Bulla Dairy Foods was seeking a solution to manage large volumes of routine agreements while reducing the time spent drafting and negotiating contracts. With a growing need for streamlined reporting and obligation management, the business required a more scalable and intelligent approach to contracting. "Luminance stood out for its ability to understand our contracts and support high-quality negotiations at speed," said Omid Komeili, Senior Legal Counsel, Bulla Dairy Foods. "It gives Foodprocessing far greater visibility across its agreements while helping its teams work more efficiently day-to-day. "Almost immediately, Foodprocessing saw the impact. Within a week of implementation, a complex ICT Services Agreement hit my desk. Similar contracts have taken me a day and a half for review - with Luminance, I was able to complete my review in two hours. "That efficiency extended enterprise-wide, with clear value at the Executive level. When our Chief Legal & Compliance Officer requested an urgent, targeted report across 20-25 contracts, in a digestible and structured format, I was able to turn it around in minutes. The response said it all: 'Luminance to the rescue!'" Luminance was selected for its deep contextual understanding of negotiating positions, its ability to deliver high-quality redlining during negotiations, and its intuitive retrieval of key clauses and precedent from executed agreements. This enables teams across the business to move faster while maintaining consistency and control. The platform is being deployed across key use cases including the negotiation of NDAs, Ingredient Purchase Agreements and Packaging Purchase Agreements. The AI platform is designed to help the dairy company reduce manual processes, improve visibility into contractual risk and obligations, and empower both legal and procurement teams to operate more efficiently without increasing headcount. "Bulla Dairy Foods is a fantastic example of a business looking to scale its operations without compromising on quality or control," said Eleanor Lightbody, CEO of Luminance. "We're delighted to support their teams with AI that not only accelerates contracting, but also provides meaningful insight into their agreements and business performance." Interfood deploys Luminance to centralize global contract management. LegalAI assists Interfood lawyers. Global dairy trader Interfood has adopted legal AI platform Luminance to centralize its contract management operations across a network spanning 100 countries. Moving more than 1.1 million metric tons of dairy annually, the company is deploying the technology to replace fragmented legacy systems with a single data repository. The rollout is designed to standardize global negotiations using historical contract insights and reduce manual document tracking, reflecting a growing trend of multinational corporations integrating specialized AI to drive efficiency in high-velocity supply chains. The media release is below -. Interfood Adopts Luminance's Legal-Grade(TM) AI to Build a More Strategic Legal Function and Drive Smarter Contract Intelligence London, [July 1 2026]: Luminance, the pioneer of Legal-Grade(TM) AI for enterprise, today announced that Interfood, one of the world's leading dairy traders, has adopted its platform to enhance structure and visibility in the legal operations across its global trading network, and boost insight into business-wide commercial activity with Luminance's AI-powered contract intelligence platform. Founded in the Netherlands in 1970, Interfood has spent more than 55 years building expertise in international dairy trade, trading across 100 countries and shipping over 1.1M metric tons of dairy each year. Operating across a complex network of suppliers, buyers and partners worldwide, Interfood was seeking a solution to manage the high volume of commercial contracts supporting its global trading operations, where speed, accuracy and consistency are critical. Interfood depends on rapid and reliable legal support, leading it to select Luminance for its combination of an AI powered repository, its ability to embed workflows and standardized templates directly into the platform, and deliver portfolio-wide insight across its contractual landscape. What set Luminance apart was its ability to support scalable, consistent ways of working, allowing Interfood to become more self-sufficient while boosting legal oversight. Luminance is now embedded in Interfood's daily legal operations. A single, centralized repository has replaced fragmented systems, giving the legal team immediate access to information across the business. Cross-contract analysis provides a more holistic understanding of Interfood's contractual landscape, while reducing the time spent searching for information and responding to legal queries. As a result, the Interfood legal function can now contribute more proactively to strategic discussions. Luminance has also transformed how Interfood approaches risk and commercial decision-making. The legal team can now identify recurring risk themes, benchmark positions and build a more structured view of the company's legal exposure. With access to structured data across the full contract portfolio, the team can define internal standards based on historical agreements, approaching negotiations with greater consistency. The result is more informed, balanced commercial decision-making. Sjoerd Oosterhuis, Head of Legal at Interfood, said: "It was very clear to me from the start that we needed not just a repository but an intelligent platform, and Luminance delivered exactly that. The biggest shift has been the level of structure and oversight we now have. In a fast-paced trading environment, Luminance gives us the confidence to deliver accurate, timely advice without compromising on quality." Eleanor Lightbody, CEO of Luminance, said: "Interfood is precisely the type of enterprise that Luminance was built to serve: a global trader whose legal team must keep pace with the market without ever compromising the quality of its advice. Quartet of Cambridge winners celebrate King's Awards delight.

Quartet of Cambridge winners celebrate King's Awards delight. Published: 07:43, 18 May 2026 | Updated: 10:08, 18 May 2026 The recipients of 60th King's Awards for Enterprise saw four Cambridge companies - Luminance, Antibodies.com, Meteor Inkjet and Plextek - among the winners of 186 awards. The first honours - then the Queen's Awards - were conferred in 1966, since when the programme has recognised more than 8,000 exceptional companies, celebrating the ambition, ingenuity, and success of the UK's business community. The 186 awards this year were won by 185 companies ( Bristol-based Tailfin took home two awards): 164 (89 per cent) went to SMEs, with 24 of those (13 per cent) being micro-businesses with 10 employees or less. Sebastian Newlove is co-founder and director of Antibodies.com, the life sciences services company whose award was in the International Trade category. He said: "Receiving the King's Award for Enterprise is a truly special moment for everyone at Antibodies.com, and welcome recognition of the hard work of our team and the progress we've made over the years. "We chose to apply because we've always focused on international growth and innovation in life science tools, and this category really reflects that journey. "We look forward to building on this achievement and hope the award will shine a light on the work we do to support vital research within the scientific community." It was a good week too for Plextek - honoured with a King's Award for Enterprise for Innovation, and a winner in the Technology Company of the Year category at the recent Cambridge Independent 2026 Science & Technology Awards. Plextek's breakthrough PLX-T60 technology is an ultra-compact, reconfigurable sensing platform designed and engineered in the UK, used in space with additional support from multiple international space agencies and satellite manufacturers. Brent Hudson, CEO of Plextek, said: "Plextek is incredibly proud to receive the King's Award for Enterprise for Innovation. This is a powerful recognition of UK-designed technology delivering real-world impact. "Our ambition is to turn bold ideas into products that address some of the world's toughest challenges, and this award reflects the strength of that mission. As we continue to develop this technology, we are expanding its capabilities for use in more demanding environments, while applying the same innovation across a wide range of sectors, from defence and space to medical and beyond, helping our customers across these industries unlock new opportunities and drive meaningful progress." Top Stories on Cambridge Independent. Meteor Inkjet is at the forefront of advancing the implementation of inkjet technology into print and production industries worldwide, replacing less sustainable methods and enabling shorter production runs with zero overproduction. The award also recognises Meteor Inkjet's sustainablity ethos and commitment to socially responsible and ethical business practice. Managing director Clive Ayling said: "This recognition reflects the journey we've been on to embed sustainability into every part of our business. From offsetting our carbon footprint to supporting our people and local community, we've worked hard to ensure that responsible, ethical practices guide our decisions every day as we enable the conversion of industry to more sustainable production using industrial inkjet. Luminance, meanwhile, is the second company to achieve the double whammy of a King's Award and a win in the Science & Technology Awards (in the AI Company of the Year category). A spokesperson for the legal AI frontrunner said: "We're honoured to share that Luminance has been awarded the The King's Awards for Enterprise 2026 in the International Trade category. "From our beginnings in Cambridge, Luminance has grown into a truly global company, with 10 offices worldwide and customers spanning 70-plus countries. "This recognition reflects the strength of our international growth and the impact of our technology in markets around the world. "Thank you to our customers and partners for being a part of this journey, and to the entire Luminance team for building a category-defining company on a global stage! Blair McDougall, minister for small businesses and economic transformation, said: "A huge congratulations to every business receiving awards this year, who once again have illustrated the best of British innovation and talent. "These awards show that right across the UK, there are small businesses that are thriving, growing and succeeding and it's only right that we champion these successes." To mark this anniversary year - and "to ensure the awards continue to reflect the evolving landscape of UK business" - a new category has been introduced: The King's Award for Enterprise - Young Founder. Created as part of the Department for Business and Trade's Small Business Plan, the category will recognise founders aged 18-30 who are leading their businesses, and driving growth and opportunity. A spopkesperson for the Department of Business & Trade told the Cambridge Independent: "We launched the Young Founder category this year to coincide with the announcement of the 2026 winners. The category is now open for applications, and next year the first set of winners in this category will be announced." More Stories
