MAG Aerospace and Rocket Fast Drones partner on 3D-printable, tube-launched counter-drone aircraft

MAG Aerospace and Australian company Rocket Fast Drones have formed a partnership to advance unmanned aircraft for counter-UAS, air-launched effects, attritable strike, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR). MAG, a Lead Systems Integrator based in Fairfax, Virginia, will pair its operator experience with Rocket Fast Drones' tube-launched, vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. The drones range from 90mm to 450mm in diameter, with ranges up to 40 nautical miles and projected speeds up to 155 miles per hour. They carry up to 2.2 pounds of modular payload and can be 3D printed in the field, which makes them cheap enough to lose. MAG chief engineer Matt Jessup said the conflict in Iran exposed a gap in unmanned aircraft technology, with the US and its allies spending hundreds of millions of dollars to defeat cheap Iranian drones.
