McArthurGlen Designer Outlets creates and operates open-air shopping villages that house luxury and premium brands at year-round discounted prices, bundled with dining and entertainment. Its product works by building and maintaining destination shopping centers where brand stores sell products at savings, attracting visitors with a cohesive experience rather than a single store, often featuring a mix of outlets and services. The company differentiates itself through being an early European pioneer of designer outlets, growing a large portfolio across Europe and Canada, and benefiting from a strategic joint venture with Simon Property Group that provided capital and scale while remaining privately owned and founder-led. The goal is to be the dominant designer outlet destination operator in Europe and beyond, expanding its portfolio and drawing millions of visitors each year.

New additions to Wolverhampton's Bentley Bridge retail park. Published 23rd Sep 2026, 10:26 BST The site was chosen as it was an area of high footfall. A new electric vehicle charging hub has opened on a business park in Wolverhampton. Operator RAW Charging has launched the hub on Bentley Bridge Leisure Park, in the Heath Town area, and it 22 bays including 16 ultra-rapid charging units. The company said the site was chosen as it was an area of high footfall next to leisure attractions such as Hollywood Bowl, Cineworld and a Wagamama restaurant. This latest site continues RAW's £24.5 million, 20-year partnership with Landsec, which owns and manages Bentley Bridge, and Aviva Investors, with additional rapid hubs currently in development across both portfolios. RAW Charging specialises in operating EV hub at leisure and retail sites and partners with companies such as Alton Towers' owner Merlin Entertainments, National Trust and retail outlet firm McArthurGlen alongside major rollouts with the Royal Horticultural Society. It is also aiming to install 1,000 new charging bays across 28 of the UK's most-visited retail and leisure destinations with Landsec. RAW is rolling out an £11 million ultra-rapid trade-focused network with B&Q. Chief executive Jason Simpson said: "We're excited to bring our ultra-rapid charging experience to Bentley Bridge. "This hub delivers the speed, reliability and convenience drivers expect at one of the region's most visited retail and leisure destinations. By partnering with leading property owners, we're making sustainable journeys simpler and helping accelerate the UK's transition to zero-emission travel." Mark Welsby, centre manager at Bentley Bridge Leisure Park, added: "We're thrilled to partner with RAW to bring new electric vehicle charging bays to Bentley Bridge. "Our aim is to ensure visitors can fully enjoy everything we offer, with the peace of mind that their electric vehicles can be recharged safely while they enjoy our restaurants and leisure activities. "This investment in sustainable infrastructure supports greener travel and strengthens Bentley Bridge as the ultimate charge-and-go destination."

Greggs opens smaller 'Bitesize' shop at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet. The new outlet operates seven days a week and has created 15 jobs. Greggs has opened a new "Bitesize Greggs" outlet at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, marking the latest launch of its smaller shop format. The reduced-size stores are designed for busy locations where space is limited. The Cheshire Oaks shop operates seven days a week and has created 15 jobs. It follows the opening of the first Bitesize Greggs at Sevenoaks railway station in November, with a second opening at Dartford station earlier this month. The format is being trialled to gauge customer demand and assess how the smaller stores perform operationally. With a smaller footprint, Bitesize Greggs focuses on a selection of core products, including sausage rolls, steak bakes, sweet items, and Fairtrade hot drinks. The Cheshire Oaks branch will also sell the Festive Bake, which has recently returned nationwide. Greggs said the Bitesize format will be developed alongside its larger shops as part of its wider expansion strategy. The company is aiming to open around 120 net new shops in 2025 and expects to add further Bitesize Greggs locations in 2026.
