Meow Wolf creates immersive, interactive art installations and experiences in the entertainment and arts space. Its venues invite visitors to explore and engage with art through technology, sound, storytelling, and hands-on elements, turning galleries into exploratory environments. Revenue comes from ticket sales, merchandise, and events tied to the installations, with locations in Santa Fe, Las Vegas, and Grapevine. Unlike traditional galleries or museums, Meow Wolf centers on participatory experiences that invite audiences to influence what they see and how they move through the space. The company’s goal is to provide accessible, transformative art experiences that fuse creativity and technology, attract a broad audience, and sustain interest and visitation across its venues.

Meow Wolf names Matthew Henick new CEO. Meow Wolf announced that Matthew Henick has been named CEO. This announcement comes ahead of its Los Angeles exhibition later this year, as well as a future New York City exhibition slated for late 2027. "Matthew brings a remarkable combination of media, technology, and immersive experience leadership at exactly the right moment for Meow Wolf," said Christopher Sobecki, chair of the board at Meow Wolf. "With the company expanding both its geographic footprint as well as its new media presence beyond the four walls, the board is confident he is the right leader to build on Meow Wolf's artistic foundation while guiding its growth in a rapidly evolving entertainment landscape." Henick joins Meow Wolf from The Trade Desk, where he was the senior vice president of consumer products. He oversaw the development of Ventura TV OS and OpenPass, the company's push to reshape how the world navigates streaming content. Before that, he was the CEO of Deep Voodoo, the creative AI and visual effects studio founded by the creators of South Park. He also previously led Metaverse Development at Epic Games, driving Fortnite's immersive digital world and partnerships with other companies. "The first time I walked through a Meow Wolf exhibition, I felt wonder and connection - to the art, to the strangers around me, and the artists who create these miracle places," said Henick. "My job is to make sure millions more people get to feel that, whether they walk through our portals or encounter Meow Wolf in entirely new ways." Henick holds a Master of Fine Arts from USC's Peter Stark Producing Program, School of Cinematic Arts, a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology and Society from Stanford University, and a Master's Degree in Digital Media Studies, also from Stanford. He also co-founded one of the first and largest ringtone companies in the U.S., MobileSmarts. Rebecca Campbell stepped in as Interim CEO during the search for a new CEO in May of 2025. Campbell will continue to serve on Meow Wolf's board of directors. "Rebecca brought exactly the kind of strategic, experienced hand this moment called for," said Sobecki. "She protected the integrity of the search, kept the organization focused, and made sure we didn't settle. Meow Wolf is a better company for her leadership, and we're fortunate she'll remain part of it."
Meow Wolf, the immersive arts and entertainment company, has appointed Matthew Henick as chief executive officer. The Santa Fe-based company, which opened its House of Eternal Return in 2016, now operates permanent locations in Texas, Nevada and Colorado, with installations planned for New York and Los Angeles. Henick previously served as senior vice president of consumer products at The Trade Desk and chief executive of Deep Voodoo, an AI and visual effects studio founded by South Park creators. He also led metaverse development at Epic Games, driving strategy for Fortnite's immersive digital world. Henick replaces interim CEO Rebecca Campbell, a former Walt Disney executive who held the role since May 2025. The board cited Henick's media, technology and immersive experience leadership as ideal for guiding Meow Wolf's expansion.
Meow Wolf partners with Worldbuildr on upcoming immersive experience in Los Angeles. October 15, 2025 - Los Angeles / New York Worldbuildr, the platform for creating interactive digital twins for location-based entertainment, has partnered with Meow Wolf for the company's highly anticipated Los Angeles project: an immersive art exhibition based in a former movie theater. This collaboration marks the final milestone of Worldbuildr's transition from a custom services company to a product-based platform, now adopted by one of the industry's most imaginative and recognized experience creators. Meow Wolf is known for its radically creative spaces, deep commitment to narrative complexity, and a storytelling style that unfolds in fragments scattered across rooms and layers. They have consistently redefined what interactive environments can be, and the upcoming Los Angeles location continues this tradition at scale. While project details remain under wraps, the Worldbuildr platform will support Meow Wolf's design process as they develop one of their most cinematic and genre-defying exhibitions yet. Meow Wolf's installations are kaleidoscopes of intricate art, layered narrative mystery, and interactive design, with hidden clues woven through mazes of explorable worlds. The complexity of these spaces and the hidden logic beneath their surface are what make them so beloved and so challenging to design. To push this even further for the Los Angeles project, Meow Wolf is now turning to the power of digital twins. "Meow Wolf loves to ideate and explore new portals of opportunity. This has always included pushing technology forward, especially in our creation, and not being afraid to try. I am excited that our Design & Delivery teams are able to leverage this new technology to strengthen the support of our Creative partners and ultimately the experiences we can bring to guests," said Derek Pendergrass, VP of Design & Integration at Meow Wolf. By simulating and refining spatial concepts and interactivity ahead of fabrication, Meow Wolf's creative team will be able to make confident design decisions earlier in the process without losing the mystery and magic that define their experiences. "We built Worldbuildr to empower creative teams to design and test complex physical-digital experiences before opening day," said Michael Libby, CEO of Worldbuildr. "Collaborating with Meow Wolf, a company that truly lives at the edge of immersive innovation, is both a validation of our vision and a challenge to the limits of what this technology can do, and that's exactly what we want." Worldbuildr is designed to support experience designers, producers, and technical directors in visualizing, testing, and evolving complex physical-digital spaces. From early concept to operational optimization, the platform brings spatial design, show control, guest behavior simulation, and team collaboration into a single digital environment. "Now, leveraging simulations and digital twins, Meow Wolf can go even further: using data to anticipate outcomes, fine-tune complexity, so that opening day feels less like an act of heroism and more like the celebration it's meant to be. We're genuinely excited for what this makes possible for them," added Natalia Skibenko, VP of Sales and Marketing. As the platform continues to grow, Worldbuildr looks forward to supporting more creative teams in building the next generation of immersive experiences.
