His earlier background is unusually varied for a finance executive: he oversaw construction of a six-lane highway from Jordan to Iraq, managed a fleet of 23 ships, founded the first private airline company in Eastern Europe during the 1990s, and played a role in Ireland's largest banking syndicate. He also previously worked on development projects at the Irish Stock Exchange and held financial and advisory roles connected to organisations and government entities in China. MultiBank has since relocated its headquarters to Dubai, while maintaining regional centres in the US, Australia, China, Cyprus and Germany. MultiBank reported group revenue of $361.8 million and EBITDA of $284.9 million for 2024, up 18% and 24.5% respectively year-on-year, figures also carried independently by Finance Magnates. MultiBank's move into digital assets. Alongside its core foreign exchange and derivatives business, MultiBank operates mb.io, a cryptocurrency exchange regulated by Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), covering spot trading and real-world asset tokenisation. mb.io recently integrated Botim, the UAE messaging and payments app, to let UAE users fund mb.io trading accounts directly through Botim's payment rails, part of a broader push to reduce the friction between fiat and crypto trading for retail users in the country.
