NCC AB reports $1.7B order intake, up 5%, amid contracting challenges and climate goals

NCC AB reported a strong order intake of SEK14.8 billion in Q1 2026, up 5% year-on-year, with Industry orders rising 17% to SEK4.6 billion. The company achieved stable earnings in its Contracting business with operating profit of SEK177 million despite lower net sales due to phasing out zero-margin mega projects. However, the company reported a loss for the period of SEK186 million. The Industry segment experienced negative earnings, impacted by cold winter conditions affecting stone sales. Property Development remained slow with no profit recognitions from project sales. NCC maintained a low net debt of SEK1.1 billion and proposed a dividend of SEK11 per share, approximately 65% of profit after tax. The company expressed caution regarding residential market recovery in 2026.
