NUS Enterprise supports and grows entrepreneurship at the National University of Singapore. It seeds ideas, sparks innovations, and scales ventures from campus into global companies by offering experiential learning, ecosystem building, technology translation and commercialisation, and strategic global partnerships. It has helped nearly 4,300 students and over 3,000 start-ups, including 10 unicorns, and aims to improve the lives of 1 billion people in the next decade by building a worldwide innovation network. Their approach combines education, mentorship, access to resources and markets, and collaborations to turn research and ideas into real-world impact.

Playground Global and Matter Venture Partners join $117M NUS VC programme to tap Singapore deep tech

US venture capital firms Playground Global and Matter Venture Partners have joined NUS Enterprise's US$117 million VC Programme, gaining access to Singapore's deep tech startup ecosystem. The partnerships will connect promising Singaporean startups in AI, biotech, quantum technologies and advanced materials with US markets and venture networks. NUS Enterprise will establish its first global outpost at Playground Global's 70,000-square-foot Silicon Valley facility, The Studio, providing NUS-backed founders with laboratories, prototyping workshops and market exposure to validate technologies and refine product-market fit. The NUS VC Programme comprises US$39 million in investments across selected VC firms and US$78 million reserved for co-investments in NUS-affiliated startups. Since 2001, NUS Enterprise has nurtured 10 unicorns and over 3,000 startups.

HYDGEN Raises SGD 2M for Green Hydrogen

HYDGEN has secured nearly SGD 2 million in seed funding, led by Cloudberry Pioneer Investments, with participation from NUS, TK Partners, and angel investors. The funds will be used to develop a 2 MW manufacturing facility in India, a 25 kW AEM electrolyzer, and expand into India and Southeast Asia. HYDGEN's AEM electrolyzers offer cost-effective, decentralized green hydrogen production, targeting small to mid-sized industries facing high costs and logistical challenges with traditional hydrogen supply.
