Nearmap, a global property intelligence company, has launched Nearmap Labs, a public innovation hub providing early access to emerging technologies and research. The platform showcases experimental work in artificial intelligence, computer vision, and geospatial analytics beyond the company's current product roadmap. The hub allows customers, partners, and developers to view technical demonstrations and participate in early access programmes. Initial releases feature advancements in AI-powered underwriting, computer vision, temporal reasoning, and property analytics. Nearmap Labs will serve organisations across insurance, government, architecture, engineering, construction, and commercial real estate sectors. The platform aims to demonstrate how properties are understood and managed using the company's geospatial data. Nearmap operates globally, having been founded in Australia in 2007.
Nearmap to provide imagery for ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World. Exclusive agreement expands access to Nearmap aerial imagery through the world's leading geospatial platform. Jul 2026. SALT LAKE CITY - July 13, 2026 - Nearmap, the global property intelligence company providing organizations with a complete, current view of the built environment, today announced that Esri has selected Nearmap basemap imagery for ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World, making Nearmap the exclusive aerial imagery provider for the world's most widely used geographic information system (GIS) technology. ArcGIS Living Atlas users across covered areas in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand will gain seamless access to Nearmap imagery through the ArcGIS platform's World Imagery basemap. The integration features Nearmap 20 cm Vertical imagery, expanding access to trusted geospatial content while providing a high-quality visual foundation for mapping, planning, and analysis across government, infrastructure, utilities, insurance, AECO, and commercial real estate. As the default aerial imagery layer in ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Enterprise, the ArcGIS Living Atlas World Imagery basemap serves more than 700,000 organizations worldwide, including Fortune 500 companies, national governments, all 50 U.S. states, more than 20,000 cities, and over 7,000 universities. The agreement reflects growing demand for trusted geospatial content embedded directly within the workflows organizations rely on every day. "This agreement represents an important milestone for Nearmap and validates the quality, consistency, and scale of our imagery program," said Ray Savona, Chief Revenue Officer at Nearmap. "Organizations around the world depend on ArcGIS to understand and manage the built environment, and we're proud that Nearmap imagery will help power those decisions. This collaboration introduces hundreds of thousands of organizations to Nearmap imagery - and opens the door to our broader portfolio of premium imagery, AI-powered property intelligence, and enterprise workflows." ArcGIS users will automatically view Nearmap imagery at supported zoom levels in their existing GIS workflow with no additional logins, subscriptions, or configuration required. "Organizations across many industries are increasingly relying on imagery as a critical source of data for their analytic and operational geospatial workflows," said Richard Cooke, Corporate Director, Global Business Development, Esri. "Nearmap's metro imagery is a valued addition for the ArcGIS Living Atlas to deliver users a higher resolution basemap to enhance situational awareness, planning, and operational efficiency." Nearmap will provide regular imagery updates every 6-12 months throughout the agreement, ensuring ArcGIS users continue to benefit from current, high-quality aerial imagery. While the ArcGIS Living Atlas integration provides a trusted visual foundation for mapping and spatial analysis, organizations requiring the highest-resolution imagery, more frequent capture, historical imagery, AI-powered property intelligence, APIs, and enterprise workflow integrations can continue to access those capabilities through a direct Nearmap subscription. Nearmap has launched Roof Assessment, an AI-powered tool that enables organisations to remotely evaluate roof conditions across entire building portfolios using high-resolution aerial imagery. The capability is designed for commercial property owners, architecture and construction firms, and government facility management teams. The system replaces traditional site inspections with automated condition insights, allowing organisations to standardise decision-making and prioritise capital investments. One client reported narrowing necessary inspections from 150 buildings to just 15 using the technology. Roof Assessment provides AI-driven condition ratings and high-resolution imagery accessible through a centralised platform, enabling teams to detect issues earlier and coordinate maintenance strategies. The tool is available now and expands Nearmap's property intelligence offerings across the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Nearmap and Ecopia AI have launched off-the-shelf high-precision transportation data across 100 North American cities, with plans to expand coverage to 1.5 million square kilometres. The dataset combines Nearmap's high-resolution aerial imagery with Ecopia's AI mapping technology to extract over 60 vector layers including sidewalks, bike lanes, road markings and crosswalks. The Advanced Transportation Features dataset achieves greater than 95% geometric accuracy whilst maintaining AI efficiency and scalability. Previously, such detailed transportation mapping required lengthy manual processes, limiting availability and driving up costs for government agencies and engineering firms. Ecopia has previously delivered custom transportation data projects for organisations including the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning and Oregon Department of Transportation. The off-the-shelf launch represents the first standardised inventory of North American transportation infrastructure at this scale.

The award announcement coincides with the launch of the Nearmap Accelerator for Betterview Property Intelligence, a cloud-native Extension that integrates Nearmap property intelligence directly into PolicyCenter. The integration eliminates the need for underwriters to toggle between multiple systems. Property flags from Betterview now surface automatically as underwriting issues within the PolicyCenter risk analysis tab. Property report PDFs upload instantly to policy files and high-resolution aerial imagery is accessible within the underwriter's existing workflow. "Insurers don't have time for fragmented workflows," said David Tobias, Chief Product Officer at Nearmap. "This cloud-native Accelerator brings our industry-leading property intelligence into the environment underwriters already trust, PolicyCenter, so they can act faster, mitigate risks earlier, and focus on delivering value to policyholders." Key benefits include: * Streamlined workflows: Property intelligence integrated directly into PolicyCenter eliminates system toggling and delays * Proactive risk management: AI-driven risk signals detect property conditions and changes over time, enabling earlier intervention * Simplified IT architecture: Cloud-native design eliminates custom integration complexity and ongoing maintenance costs The Nearmap Accelerator leverages AI-powered property insights and predictive risk data to help underwriters make better-informed decisions before claims occur. The Nearmap Accelerator for Betterview Property Intelligence is available now. For more information, visit nearmap.com/partners/guidewire.
