Newsela has acquired Generation Genius for $100 million, enhancing its K-12 educational offerings with Generation Genius's K-8 science and math videos. This acquisition aims to deepen student engagement and support teachers by combining Newsela's content and assessment tools with Generation Genius's engaging lessons. The deal includes cash and performance-based payments. Newsela continues to expand its innovative products, including recent acquisitions and AI-powered solutions.
In one clip from the Accuracy in Media videos, an administrator from an Indiana school district acknowledged Newsela had partnered with the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Howard Zinn Education Project and said that "our teachers know that but they're not saying that out loud."
