Asia Pacific engineering consultancy Aurecon has announced a strategic investment in technology company Nomic, building on a four-year working partnership. The collaboration helped shape Nomic's industry-specific AI capabilities for engineering, design and project delivery. The investment will expand access to Nomic's platform across Aurecon's entire workforce. Unlike many AI tools, Nomic's platform is built specifically for engineering and project delivery sectors and is designed to deliver greater impact for clients.

Arcadis has invested in Nomic, an AI platform designed for the built environment, following a six-month trial involving 150 engineers across 12 countries. The partnership aims to embed AI agents into core project workflows, including drawing review, code compliance checks, and BIM coordination. During the trial, 86% of participating engineers reported that Nomic changed how they approach their work, with one workflow reducing several days of manual document cataloguing to hours. The platform integrates with tools Arcadis teams already use, including Autodesk Forma and Bentley ProjectWise. Arcadis plans to use Nomic's technology to accelerate project delivery, improve accuracy, and create more scalable working methods whilst maintaining human expertise at the centre of operations.
