Overview

North Star BlueScope Steel operates a Delta, Ohio steel mini-mill that uses electric arc furnace technology to melt scrap and other iron-based materials into hot-rolled steel coils. Its customers include coil processors, cold-rolled strip producers, and equipment manufacturers in automotive, construction, and agriculture sectors. The plant focuses on high output and lower greenhouse gas emissions, boosted by integrated scrap recycling and BlueScope ownership, with capacity expanded to about three million tonnes per year and a third EAF plus additional scrap facilities. The goal is to provide high-quality, low-emission flat-rolled steel at scale to North American customers through an expanded production and recycling footprint.
