OONI makes and sells high-end microscopes for life sciences, including the Nanoimager desktop super-resolution microscope and the Aplo Scope. Its products let researchers visualize and track single molecules in living cells using direct STORM (dSTORM) imaging at about 20 nanometer resolution. The Nanoimager is designed to be compact and easy to use, while the Aplo Scope combines high-power single-molecule localization with low-power live-cell imaging for broader experiments. Compared with competitors, ONI emphasizes a ready-to-use desktop instrument with straightforward operation, bundled consumables and services, and a focus on single-molecule imaging in biology, virology, and immunology. The company aims to make high-resolution, molecule-level imaging accessible to a wide range of academic and industrial researchers, enabling detailed study of cellular processes and interactions.

ONI has launched Aplo Flow, an integrated fluidics system that automates complex multiplexed imaging workflows for super-resolution microscopy experiments at 15 nanometre resolution. The system eliminates manual intervention between imaging cycles, enabling researchers to study molecular interactions below 100 nanometres that conventional optical technologies cannot resolve. Aplo Flow runs up to four samples in parallel and maintains over 99% spatial data preservation across multiple imaging cycles with minimal signal carryover. The platform supports workflows for drug delivery, particle uptake, DNA-PAINT, RESI and MERFISH applications. The San Diego-based company says the system combines sample preparation, fluidics, imaging and analysis into a single automated ecosystem, improving reproducibility whilst reducing operational complexity in spatial biology and therapeutic discovery research.
Oxford Nanoimaging has launched LNP PREP on Aplo Flow, delivering automated sample-to-answer workflow for lipid nanoparticle characterisation. The system integrates programmable fluidics with super-resolution microscopy to enable quantitative single-particle LNP analysis for biopharma development and manufacturing. Aplo Flow can prepare up to 16 samples for imaging in 4.5 hours, reducing hands-on time by up to 85% per sample. The platform combines automated fluidic control, single-molecule imaging, reagent kits and analysis software into a unified system. ONI is working with multiple global pharmaceutical organisations to advance automated LNP characterisation workflows. The technology enables precise measurement of LNP size, cargo loading and ligand distribution at single-particle resolution, supporting development of mRNA vaccines and gene therapies.
SAN DIEGO, CA / ACCESSWIRE / March 29, 2024 / ONI, the company that brought super-resolution microscopes to your lab benchtop, proudly announces the launch of a next-generation, end-to-end solution for studying extracellular vesicles (EVs). ONI now offers a complete solution for extracellular vesicle sample preparation and analysis, the ONI Application Kit™: EV Profiler 2 with the analysis software AutoEV. Together, they are designed to instill confidence in researchers by enabling the identification and precise characterization of EVs at a single EV level with accuracy like never before.ONI has created the one truly EV-optimized super-resolution imaging acquisition and analysis workflow that anyone can use, cutting researchers' time to results in half. To simplify EV research, ONI is proud to introduce Aplo Flow, an innovative automated sample preparation platform that is specifically tailored to EV Profiler 2. This user-centric platform cuts the hands-on time by 85%, simplifying EV research. The EV Profiler 2 kit allows researchers to choose from multiple capture and detection strategies and enables simple and robust characterization of up to 12 samples in three colors. Users only need to bring purified EV samples and, should they wish, primary antibodies for their biomarker of interest
