Omnea has appointed Michael van Keulen as chief procurement officer in residence. Van Keulen brings nearly 30 years of experience in finance, procurement, and enterprise transformation, having previously worked at VF Corporation, Lululemon, and Coupa. Van Keulen approached Omnea directly after his network repeatedly recommended the company. He sought an AI-native procurement solution rather than traditional platforms with enhanced interfaces. The London-based company provides an agentic operating system for procurement and supplier management. Omnea tripled revenue in the twelve months to June 2026, marking its third consecutive year of more than threefold growth. Recent enterprise clients include PayPal, Just Eat, and T. Rowe Price. Global headcount grew 64% in the first half of the year, whilst the New York team expanded by 250%.
Michael van Keulen to transform procurement with Omnea. August 04, 2026 With 30 years of experience, Michael van Keulen joins the AI-native platform Omnea, with the aim of guiding customers through their procurement journeys Omnea has announced the appointment of Michael van Keulen as Chief Procurement Officer in Residence. Following nearly 30 years in procurement, finance and enterprise transformation, he joins the AI-native platform to help guide customers as they undertake procurement transformation journeys. Affectionately known as MVK, he will be helping organisations around the world optimise decision-making, unlock efficiencies and drive meaningful change across operations. The deeper I dug, the more certain I became. This was it. Michael van Keulen, CPO in Residence at Omnea Transforming procurement. Omnea is an agentic operating system for procurement and supplier management, working to streamline the buying experience and embed risk governance into every step. It is an AI-native platform, aiming to ensure a smooth user experience, offering tailored experiences and smart integrations. Founded in 2022, the platform works across the entire supplier lifecycle, transforming procurement, third-party risk management and spend control. It is trusted by a range of organisations, including The Adecco Group, McAfee, Trustly, Spotify and proofpoint. Procurement is a complex process, especially in today's era of volatility, constant change and demand to do more. When purchasing new tools, it takes an average of six months and more than 11 stakeholders to complete the order, but Omnea is aiming to change that by helping organisations take control of their suppliers. It streamlines the procurement process, offering each stakeholder tailored insights into the function they are overseeing, whether their speciality is IT, finance or legal. To better help the platform, Michael is joining the company as CPO in Residence. Omnea drives * 4.2% average annual savings on indirect spend across the portfolio * 45% faster procurement cycle times, from intake to purchase order * 96% of spend routed through compliant, pre-approved channels A new opportunity. Michael has a vast career leading procurement in global organisations, having worked at VF Corporation - the parent company of Vans, The North Face and Timberland - lululemon and Coupa. In this time, he has driven transformation across teams, helped map out product roadmaps, reduced operating expenses and generated billions of dollars in shareholder value. He will be bringing all this and more to Omnea, where he aims to guide customers as they undertake their own procurement transformations. After searching for a role where he could work closely with customers and drive end-to-end transformation, he found Omnea. He called CEO and founder, Ben Freeman, to discuss an opportunity. "This market has seen more innovation in the last three years than the previous twenty. The intake and orchestration players that took on Coupa while I was there intrigued me - the market needed that competition," Michael explains. "But the more I researched and spoke to my network, the more I saw a similar product architecture and approach, with a prettier front end. AI is a generational opportunity to do things genuinely differently, and a slightly shinier P2P wasn't enough for me. I wanted a truly AI-native solution. Omnea's name kept coming up. The deeper I dug, the more certain I became. This was it." His career has worked across finance, procurement and enterprise transformation, and he has advised on digital strategy for some of the world's largest organisations. Now, he will be leading procurement at Omnea. "MVK has seen this market from every seat, and nobody is better placed to help our customers seize what AI makes possible than someone who has led enterprise transformation from the inside," says Ben. "He'll work shoulder to shoulder with our customers, and sharpen how we build our agentic operating system for procurement. Having him choose Omnea is a proud moment for us." A growing organisation. Omnea is still a growing organisation, but it is now on its third consecutive year of more than 3x growth. In the first half of 2026, it has already been selected by Just Eat and PayPal - as well as others - to help them transform their procurement strategies. The platform is backed by investors including Khosla Ventures, Accel, Insight Partners, First Round Capital and Point Nine. These organisations are helping Omnea grow, with a global headcount increase of 64% in H1 and a 250% increase in its New York team alone. "The next generation of procurement innovation won't be measured by how many workflows it automates or agents it implements," adds Michael. "It will be measured by how intelligently it helps businesses make better decisions. I'm excited to build that future with Omnea." Company Portals

Omnea has partnered with Tropic to integrate AI-powered price intelligence into procurement workflows, helping companies avoid overpaying for SaaS purchases. The collaboration combines Omnea's AI context layer with Tropic's pricing data, trained on over 100,000 live negotiations. The integration automatically benchmarks SaaS quotes against verified deals of similar size, flagging above-market prices for renegotiation. Omnea customers can now benchmark every software purchase, dynamically route requests based on pricing analysis, and access Tropic's analyst team for complex deals. Tropic manages over $21 billion in spend across nearly 15,000 suppliers. The company claims its pricing intelligence is unbiased, as it doesn't accept payment from benchmarked suppliers. Price Intelligence is available as an add-on for Omnea customers, whilst existing Tropic customers can connect via API.
Omnea, a London-based procurement platform, has launched an MCP (Model Context Protocol) Server, becoming the first intake and orchestration platform with data directly accessible through AI tools including Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Cohere North and Cursor. The MCP allows procurement teams to access supplier data using natural language in their existing AI tools, eliminating time spent switching between systems and building reports. Users can query supplier relationships, outstanding purchase orders and spend breakdowns in seconds. Omnea is developing capabilities to enable direct task execution, allowing users to update supplier records and manage requests from within AI tools. The integration becomes more powerful when Omnea data combines with financial, legal and operational data from other connected systems. The MCP is now available for all Omnea customers with existing enterprise security controls.
