'Immersive' A Christmas Carol to be performed in Clacton. Martin Reed as Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol (Image: Stage Theatre and Film Company) A UNIQUE production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol is heading to Clacton. Stage Theatre and Film Company will stage the immersive theatre production at Martello Tower C on Saturday, December 13. Nick Pelas, director of the company, said: "The adaptation is a modernisation of Dickens' gothic allegory which retains the atmospheric feel of Victorian London while adding comedy,live music and special effects." The production takes place at 7.30pm, with doors opening at 7pm. Nick has been working in theatre for a number of years, starting in London fringe theatre circles before moving to Essex nine years ago. He said: "My aim is to build community, collaborate, and showcase the people and groups working in the arts. "I believe this is the future for a more cohesive and symbiotic art movement in North Essex." The show is adapted by Martin Reed, with music by Julie Robinson. Anyone who shows up in Victorian fancy dress will receive a free glass of wine, and all audience members will receive a free mulled humbug mocktail.
