Overview

Optigon creates high-speed, non-contact inspection and measurement tools to speed up the discovery, optimization, and manufacturing of clean energy materials. Its Prism system is an automated, multimodal instrument that uses spectroscopic measurements to quickly determine a material’s electrical, chemical, and optical properties in milliseconds, enabling high-throughput screening and near real-time feedback. The tool integrates data analysis software to support rapid decision-making and process control in both research labs and production lines, with applicability to perovskites, other photovoltaic materials, battery films, and display materials. The goal is to bridge lab breakthroughs and large-scale production to accelerate the development of next-generation solar cells and other clean-energy technologies, backed by MIT-affiliated ecosystems and funding.
