Ottimate launches first MCP integration among AP platforms.

Ottimate launches first MCP integration among AP platforms. Share via: Ottimate, an AI-powered accounts payable automation platform serving invoice-heavy industries including grocery and foodservice, has announced the first Model Context Protocol integration in the market, enabling finance leaders to bring AP data directly into large language models for financial insights. The announcement is part of Ottimate's 2026 Summer Release, which also includes enhancements to Ottimate Copilot and a new wave of AI capabilities designed to protect profit margins. CFOs and finance leaders increasingly rely on AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT to ask questions, synthesize data and drive strategy, but AP data has remained siloed, forcing finance teams to spend more than 11 hours a week running reports, according to the company. With the MCP integration, users can now use a simple prompt to get insights on financial health, cash flow exposure and payment trends in seconds - a process that historically took days, weeks or a third-party consultant. "CFOs shouldn't have to spend hours pulling together information from different sources," said Shawn Lane, CEO of Ottimate. "By being first to market with an MCP integration, we're giving finance leaders the full picture they need to make confident decisions fast." Copilot upgrades, automation features round out Summer Release. Ottimate Copilot, the company's conversational AP tool, also receives upgrades in the release, including statement reconciliation support, deeper spend analytics and a redesigned interface that surfaces the metrics customers care about most. The Summer Release additionally introduces two features targeting repetitive, error-prone tasks in accounts payable. Risk-based spend approvals automatically flag low-risk transactions, allowing approvers to focus on higher-priority items and accelerate reimbursements. Autosuggested general ledger coding for expense submissions cuts manual effort and helps accounting teams close faster with fewer corrections, moving teams closer to touchless operations. "Every release we ship helps lean teams move quickly, stay focused on high-value work and never become a bottleneck," said Don Dittmar, chief product officer of Ottimate. "This summer's release delivers that across the entire platform." Ottimate launches first AP platform with MCP integration for direct LLM data access

Ottimate, an AI-powered accounts payable automation platform, has launched the first Model Context Protocol integration in the market, enabling finance leaders to access AP data directly within large language models like Claude and ChatGPT. The integration is part of Ottimate's 2026 Summer Release. The MCP integration addresses a key pain point for CFOs, who previously spent over 11 hours weekly running reports due to siloed AP data. Users can now obtain insights on financial health, cash flow exposure and payment trends through simple prompts. The release also includes upgrades to Ottimate Copilot, the industry's first conversational AP tool, adding statement reconciliation support and deeper spend analytics. Additional features include risk-based spend approvals and autosuggested general ledger coding to reduce manual effort and accelerate closing processes.

Zenwork names Barrett Boston president to scale ai-driven tax compliance platform.

Zenwork names Barrett Boston president to scale ai-driven tax compliance platform. May 28, 2026 Barrett Boston Zenwork has appointed enterprise software executive Barrett Boston as president as the tax compliance technology company accelerates expansion of its AI-driven filing and regulatory automation platform into larger enterprise markets. The move comes as accounting, payroll and compliance software providers race to embed generative and agentic AI into workflows traditionally dominated by manual processing, seasonal labor and fragmented regulatory systems. Boston joins Zenwork after serving as CEO of Ottimate, formerly Plate IQ, where he helped transform the accounts payable platform into an AI-driven automation business spanning multiple industries. Earlier leadership roles at TriNet, IBM and TravelClick gave him experience across enterprise software sales, compliance infrastructure and operational scaling. Zenwork said Boston will oversee commercial strategy, enterprise expansion and execution of the company's broader AI-first growth roadmap. The appointment reflects a larger strategic shift taking place across tax and compliance technology, where vendors are moving beyond digital filing tools toward AI-native operational platforms capable of automating increasingly complex regulatory workflows. Zenwork operates Tax1099 and Compliancely, platforms used by more than 1.2 million businesses and CPA firms nationwide to manage IRS and state filing requirements. The company automates e-filing and delivery for more than 40 tax forms, including 1099s, W-2s and 1095s. More recently, the company has expanded aggressively into AI-enabled compliance orchestration through products including Zenwork AI Co-pilot, Diagnostic AI, Zenwork AI Assist and what it describes as the industry's first Tax1099 MCP Server. That product strategy highlights how tax compliance is emerging as one of the more commercially viable enterprise AI categories because of its combination of repetitive workflows, structured data environments and significant regulatory exposure. Founder and CEO Sanjeev Singh said Boston's experience scaling AI-powered financial and compliance platforms aligns with Zenwork's next stage of enterprise growth. Boston's background at TriNet may be particularly relevant as compliance technology increasingly converges with HR, payroll and financial operations infrastructure. During his time as chief revenue officer at TriNet, he worked at the intersection of workforce compliance, benefits administration and financial services - areas now undergoing rapid AI-driven transformation. His earlier role leading IBM's Big Data & Analytics sales organization also signals Zenwork's ambition to compete more directly in enterprise-scale AI infrastructure rather than remaining narrowly positioned as a filing software provider. The company's focus on "agentic AI" reflects a broader evolution across enterprise software markets, where vendors are increasingly attempting to build autonomous systems capable of handling end-to-end operational tasks instead of simply assisting users with workflow recommendations. For tax and accounting firms, that could eventually mean AI systems capable of interpreting regulatory changes, validating filings, diagnosing compliance gaps and automating interactions across multiple reporting systems with limited manual intervention. The timing is notable as accounting firms and finance departments face growing operational strain from labor shortages, evolving IRS requirements and rising complexity in multi-jurisdictional reporting obligations. At the same time, private equity and growth investors continue pouring capital into compliance automation platforms viewed as foundational infrastructure for modern financial operations. Zenwork, which is backed by Spectrum Equity, appears to be positioning itself as a broader compliance operating system rather than solely a tax filing provider. Boston said the company sits at the intersection of AI, tax compliance and the digital transformation of accounting, an increasingly attractive segment as enterprises seek to reduce manual regulatory workloads while improving speed and accuracy. As competition intensifies across fintech and compliance software markets, platforms capable of combining regulatory expertise, AI infrastructure and enterprise-scale workflow automation are likely to gain strategic advantages in both customer acquisition and long-term platform expansion.

Introducing Ottimate: AP automation built for multi-location dental operations.

Introducing Ottimate: AP automation built for multi-location dental operations. A new member benefit designed to reduce administrative burden and sharpen financial visibility across your DSO. Running a dental service organization is a different challenge entirely from running a single practice. Finance teams are managing invoices, supplier relationships, approvals, and compliance across dozens - sometimes hundreds - of locations, often with lean staff and systems that were never designed with multi-location dental operations in mind. The result is predictable: hours spent reconciling invoices that should take minutes, limited visibility of where money is going, and growing exposure to errors and compliance risk as the organization scales. These are not marginal inefficiencies. They represent real cost - in time, in dollars, and in the capacity of your team to focus on higher-value work. Sevāredent exists to help its members solve these kinds of operational challenges. That's why Sevāredent is pleased to announce a new partnership with Ottimate, an AI-powered accounts payable (AP) platform purpose-built for multi-location dental and healthcare organizations. Why Ottimate - and why now. Most AP platforms were built with single-location businesses in mind. Bolt-on support for multiple locations typically means workarounds, not workflows. Ottimate is different. The platform was designed from the ground up to handle the volume, complexity, and compliance requirements that come with managing a DSO at scale. For Sevāredent members, the timing is strategic. As its member DSOs continue to grow - adding locations, onboarding new suppliers, and absorbing more invoice volume - the gap between manual processes and sustainable operations widens. Ottimate bridges that gap. What Ottimate delivers for Sevāredent members. * * Automated Invoice Processing, End to End - Invoices are automatically captured, matched to purchase orders, and routed through an approval workflow across all locations - without manual reconciliation at each site. Approvals move faster, suppliers get paid on time, and your offices stay operationally sound. * * Invoice Trust Score - Ottimate's Trust Score enables finance teams to immediately identify low-risk, routine invoices for accelerated processing while surfacing exceptions that genuinely need human review. Built-in PHI redaction and HIPAA-compliant document handling are included - a critical consideration for any organization operating in the dental and healthcare space. * * Real-Time Spend Visibility - Finance leaders gain a centralized view of spend, supplier activity, and financial performance at both the location and corporate level. That means the ability to identify where lab costs are running high, which supplier contracts need renegotiation, and how cash flow is trending across the entire network - in real time, not month-end. * * Scalability Without Added Headcount - Manual AP can sustain a small DSO. It cannot sustain a growing one. Ottimate's automation is designed to scale with your organization, absorbing increased invoice volume and new locations without requiring proportional increases in administrative staff. * * Contract Matching for Member Pricing - One of the most direct benefits for Sevāredent members: Ottimate can automatically match invoices against Sevāredent-negotiated supplier contracts, flagging discrepancies and helping ensure your DSO consistently captures the contracted pricing you're entitled to. The impact in practice. The efficiency gains are measurable. A DSO managing 12 locations, for example, that previously spent 15 hours per week on manual invoice reconciliation can reduce that manual work by approximately 70% through Ottimate's automated approval workflows - freeing the finance team to focus on supplier strategy, cost optimization, and growth planning rather than administrative throughput. Across three critical dimensions - accuracy, compliance, and visibility - Ottimate gives DSO finance teams the infrastructure to operate with confidence. In their own words. "Sevāredent members now have access to Ottimate, giving their DSOs AI-powered AP automation and financial insights. This member benefit helps reduce administrative burden, improve efficiency, and support operational decision-making across multiple offices." - Blake Hibray, President, Sevāredent Sourcing Solutions "We're excited to bring Ottimate to Sevāredent members. DSOs can now leverage our platform to automate AP, track margins and cash flow, and confidently manage finances across all locations - all tailored to the unique needs of multi-location dental organizations." - Zach Svendsen, VP of Alliances, Ottimate Accessing Ottimate as a Sevāredent member. Sevāredent members access Ottimate at preferred member pricing as part of this partnership. To get started: * * Contact your Strategic Account Manager to learn more about how Ottimate integrates with your current procurement and supplier workflows. * * Schedule a discovery call directly with Ottimate and reference your Sevāredent membership to apply preferred pricing. This is one of the more operationally significant member benefits Sevāredent has added to the Sevāredent portfolio. If your DSO is managing AP manually - or with tools that weren't built for multi-location dental operations - this is worth a conversation.

Ottimate names Shawn Lane CEO to scale AI-powered finance platform

Ottimate, an AI-powered accounts payable automation platform, has appointed Shawn Lane as chief executive officer. Lane previously served as CEO of LivTech for six years and held leadership positions at E2open, Mitratech and RedPrairie. The appointment follows a year of product expansion for Ottimate, which serves operationally intensive businesses in hospitality, retail and healthcare. The company's platform automates invoice processing, fraud detection and payment workflows for organisations with high invoice volumes and multiple locations. According to Ottimate's 2026 State of AP Maturity Report, only 4% of organisations have fully automated accounts payable processes, whilst 41% of finance teams experienced invoice fraud or overpayments in the past year. The platform uses AI to identify pricing anomalies, enforce policies and provide real-time visibility into invoice risk.
