Pakistan Single Window

Pakistan Single Window

Unified digital platform for import/export clearance

Overview

PSW centralizes Pakistan’s cross-border trade by connecting importers, exporters, customs, banks, and about 77 government agencies on one electronic platform to handle documents, registrations, payments, and licenses. Traders submit data through PSW, which validates, routes, and processes steps across agencies and banks to enable online licensing and clearance, eliminating paper forms like EIF and EFE and reducing paper-based processes. It stands apart as a government-led, national single-entry hub that coordinates customs, tax, licensing and financial steps across many agencies and banks, unlike fragmented or siloed systems. The goal is to make trade faster, cheaper, and more transparent while expanding digital trade services, with plans to digitize related ecosystem components like the Port Community System and Airport Community System.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • PSW launched a trader mobile app on July 22, 2026.
  • On August 13, 2026, PSW added Sindh stamp-duty collection through real-time reconciliation.
  • FY2025-26 targets ACS MVP 1.0 for June 2027, widening platform scope.

What critics are saying

  • PSW still seeks ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, exposing current security-process gaps.
  • DRAP remains only in progress, leaving high-value drug clearance outside full IRMS coverage.
  • The platform collapses if agencies resist onboarding or maintenance funding stalls.

What makes Pakistan Single Window unique

  • PSW legally enforces cross-agency trade rules under the 2021 Act and 2023 IRMS rules.
  • It uniquely connects customs, banks, and 77 agencies through one national trade ledger.
  • Uzbekistan data exchange gives PSW rare cross-border interoperability, not just domestic digitization.
