Jun 2, 2026 - 14:18 The Pentagon has tapped five major airlines to handle the transport of U.S. military medical supplies over the next year. According to a recent contract announcement, the selected carriers will share a $24 million deal to move critical cargo within the continental United States. A winning team of carriers. Selected from a pool of 13 competitive bids, the following companies were awarded the contract: * Delta Air Lines Inc. (Atlanta, Georgia) * Lynden Air Cargo LLC (Anchorage, Alaska) * Northern Air Cargo LLC (Anchorage, Alaska) * Sun Country Inc. (Minneapolis, Minnesota) * United Parcel Service Co. (Louisville, Kentucky) Contract details and future outlook. This agreement is scheduled to run through June 30, 2027. However, the Defense Logistics Agency noted that the contract includes options that could extend the partnership for an additional four years. Broader Logistics activity. This transport deal is part of a series of recent procurement actions by the agency. The Pentagon also recently awarded Peckham Vocational Industries Inc. a $15 million contract to manage the storage and distribution of Navy and Coast Guard apparel over the next two years. Additionally, Virginia-based Atlantic Diving Supply has secured a $32 million, three-year deal. They are tasked with providing tactical radio components, gun holsters, and holster assemblies to support soldiers across the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps.

Peckham, a nonprofit vocational rehabilitation organization in Lansing, Mich., has acquired Revolution Farms, a hydroponic grower in Caledonia, Mich. This acquisition will help Peckham expand its agricultural operations. Revolution Farms, founded in 2018, uses 90% less water and land than traditional farming and supplies fresh lettuce to Midwest retailers like Meijer and SpartanNash-owned stores.
