Overview

Pediatric Specialty Care provides inpatient and transitional care for medically fragile children (birth to 21) at six Pennsylvania locations. Services include private/semi-private rooms, 24/7 nursing and respiratory therapy, dual physician coverage, and weekly physician visits, with transitional/family training suites. Care may involve ventilators, oxygen, tracheostomy care, IV antibiotics, apnea monitoring, feeding tubes, stoma care, and orthopedic devices. The model emphasizes a least restrictive environment, community life, and structured activities to promote growth, learning, and family involvement. Distinctive features include a holistic, child-centered approach, ongoing medical support across disciplines, and a broad range of tech-dependent supports across multiple communities.
