To determine the 100 best small and medium workplaces of 2026, Fortune partnered with global people analytics firm Great Place to Work to analyse survey feedback representing US employees. To be eligible for the best medium workplaces list, firms must be Great Place To Work certified and must have between 100 and 999 employees. For the best small workplaces list, organisations also need to be Great Place To Work certified and have between 10 and 99 workers. A majority (96%) of employees at the best medium workplaces said their firm was a great place to work, 37% more than the average at a typical workplace of the same size. For those at the best small workplaces, the average was 98%.
