Providius

Broadcast IP media analysis & telemetry

Overview

Providius provides real-time network telemetry and IP media analysis for broadcast. Its Broadcast Media Guard (BMG) captures, decodes, and analyzes many IP media flows up to 100 Gb/s, with autonomous fault detection and compliance monitoring, and can run on commodity hardware, virtual machines, or in the cloud. Its Network Visualization & Real-time Telemetry (NVRT) platform shows telemetry and media analysis across all-IP, hybrid, and WAN broadcast networks on a single dashboard to help diagnose issues and reduce MTTR. The company differentiates itself by focusing on mission-critical live production environments and integrating visibility into the IP fabric, evidenced by a 2024 partnership with EVS to integrate NVRT with Cerebrum for streamlined workflows.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Providius Direct launched June 2026, expanding into AV-over-IP troubleshooting beyond broadcast.
  • Providius hired for Principal Network Systems Engineer in September 2026, signaling active product scaling.
  • The company is still winning courtroom costs, including $110,000 from Evertz on September 3, 2026.

What critics are saying

  • Evertz v. Providius still clouds provenance; 2026 ONCA 628 preserves costly IP baggage.
  • Broadcasters can standardize on vendor-native observability, shrinking need for standalone Providius tools.
  • If NETGEAR or EVS prioritizes competitors, Providius loses critical distribution leverage.

What makes Providius unique

  • Providius couples NVRT telemetry with packet-level media analysis for live broadcast troubleshooting.
  • Providius Direct on NETGEAR Pro AV switches automates mirroring without manual reconfiguration.
  • Providius integrates with EVS Cerebrum, embedding observability inside broadcast control workflows.

IntoPIX To Demo JPEG XS, IPMX And SMPTE ST 2110.

IntoPIX To Demo JPEG XS, IPMX And SMPTE ST 2110. intoPIX will exhibit at NAB Show New York 2026 (Javits Center, 21-22 October; Booth #932), showcasing its JPEG XS codec line-up, its IPMX-certified, SMPTE ST 2110-compatible Titanium platform, and TicoRAW workflows that carry RAW camera feeds into IP production. As a co-author of the JPEG XS standard, intoPIX offers a broad range of implementations spanning FPGA IP cores and software SDKs/plugins for CPU, GPU and ARM. The TicoXS FIP family covers HD, 4K and 8K in 4:2:2, 4:4:4 and HDR, adding Temporal Differential Coding (TDC) and JPEG XS Extended in line with the IPMX specification. High-density FPGA designs increase channel counts per device, delivering visually lossless results at a fraction of uncompressed bandwidth with latency measured in microseconds for on-prem ST 2110, REMI and distributed live production. The Titanium FPGA SoC EDK has completed IPMX certification testing (VSF TR-10 series). It provides OEMs with a single codebase for both SMPTE ST 2110 and IPMX, supports PTP and non-PTP timing, and fits a compact FPGA footprint to accelerate cameras, encoders, decoders, gateways and displays to market. Titanium SDK 2.0 brings JPEG XS, SMPTE ST 2110, IPMX, NMOS, PTP and AES67 to COTS systems from edge computers to video servers, enabling software-defined senders and receivers without dedicated capture cards or specialised hardware. The IPMX-certified Titanium Apps suite - TitaniumViewer and TitaniumShow - turns any Windows PC into an IPMX and ST 2110 endpoint. New capabilities include the Privacy Encryption Protocol (PEP, based on VSF TR-10-13) to secure streams on shared networks, plus uncompressed HD over SMPTE ST 2110-20 in TitaniumViewer, alongside JPEG XS-based workflows within the same application. Built on the JPEG XS RAW ISO standard, TicoRAW shifts image processing from the camera to the datacentre or cloud. RAW Bayer feeds can traverse SMPTE ST 2110 or RDMA, enabling centralised colour processing, remote production and AI-assisted operations. Providius Announces Providius Direct for faster AV-over-IP network investigation on NETGEAR Pro AV Switches.

Providius Announces Providius Direct for faster AV-over-IP network investigation on NETGEAR Pro AV Switches. Published: June 17, 2026 New NVRT-driven workflow enables on-demand traffic mirroring and guided troubleshooting for AV teams, integrators, and support organizations ahead of InfoComm 2026 HAMILTON, Ontario, Canada - June 16, 2026 - Providius today announced Providius Direct, a new workflow designed to help AV professionals investigate network issues faster in AV-over-IP environments running on supported NETGEAR Pro AV switches. Leveraging the Providius Network Visibility & Real-Time Telemetry (NVRT) platform, Providius Direct enables teams to initiate on-demand traffic mirroring and route captured traffic to Providius analysis tools for inspection and root cause analysis without manual switch reconfiguration or specialist network intervention. AV-over-IP systems are increasingly distributed and mission-critical, yet troubleshooting has continued to depend on manual mirror configuration, precise timing, and access to scarce network engineering resources. Providius Direct is designed to address that gap by providing integrators, operators, and support organizations with a guided, repeatable path from a reported issue to packet-level evidence. When an issue occurs, Providius Direct allows teams to enable dynamic traffic mirroring on supported NETGEAR Pro AV switches through the Providius NVRT interface. Selected traffic is routed to Providius CRIO (Capture, Record, Inspect, Observe) or Broadcast Media Guard (BMG) for analysis. The workflow supports remote troubleshooting and reduces the need for on-site escalation or manual changes to switch configuration. "The NETGEAR Pro AV ecosystem is strongest when partners build on top of it in ways that make a real difference to integrators," says Devan Cress, Global Business Development Director, Enterprise AV at NETGEAR. "Providius Direct does that: it gives teams a faster, more structured way to investigate issues on NETGEAR-based deployments, which ultimately makes our infrastructure a more confident choice." "AV-over-IP environments are becoming more dynamic, distributed, and mission-critical, which means teams need a faster way to capture the right traffic at the right time," said Mathew Slack, VP of Enterprise Sales at Providius. "With Providius Direct, we're reducing the complexity of network investigation by enabling users to safely mirror traffic across supported NETGEAR Pro AV switch environments through NVRT, helping integrators and end users move quickly from a reported issue to deeper analysis and actionable evidence." Providius Direct will be demonstrated at InfoComm 2026.
