Pushpay launches rebuilt Groups feature as first phase of major church management platform overhaul

Pushpay, a payments and engagement platform for faith-based organisations, has launched Groups, the first major release in its Staq Transformation initiative to modernise church management software. The redesigned feature consolidates group information into a single dashboard, allowing ministry leaders to manage members, take attendance, communicate and identify care needs without navigating multiple screens. Groups represents the initial milestone in a multi-phase platform overhaul responding to customer feedback. Upcoming updates include Single Staq Giving for seamless data connection, AI Involvement Summary to reduce profile review time, Process Queues for workflow automation, and Staq Data Lake for centralised reporting. The initiative addresses research showing 78% of ministry leaders rate ease of use as extremely important when evaluating software, according to Pushpay and Barna's 2026 State of Church Tech Report.

What to expect from Pushpay's Staq Transformation.

What to expect from Pushpay's Staq Transformation. Watch its Chief Product Officer, Gruia Pitigoi-Aron, talk through its most substantial platform updates ever I recently spoke at one of Pushpay's customer education events, The Table, at Red Rocks Church outside of Denver. During my talk, I made a comment about customers telling me that its product can be difficult to use. Seeing so many attendees nodding in agreement, I just had to laugh and roll with it, because I see the honesty of it. Many of its dissatisfied customers cite ease of use as an issue, and only 1 in 4 of its churches currently use Check-In, Volunteer Schedules, and Process Queues together, which are a powerful combination that's correlated with long-term ministry impact. But I get it. Too many of you are working around some of the challenges in the platform, rather than having the system work for you. Administrators are managing ChMS and Giving workflows separately because the systems do not behave as one. Group leaders need simpler ways to stay connected with their groups. And ministry leaders want to use processes and automation, but the complexity makes your staff avoid it. Pushpay Limited is changing the narrative. This year, Pushpay is making the most substantial investment in its ChMS and Giving products in the history of its platform, what Pushpay Limited is calling the Staq Transformation. And for the first time, Pushpay Limited is calling its shot. Pushpay Limited is committing to 5 major deliverables in the next 6 months, and Pushpay Limited want you to hold Pushpay Limited accountable to the following: Groups optimization (June 2026): Pushpay Limited want Groups to be a feature your team actually wants to use. Rather than feeling intimidating, it's going to be more simple and connective than ever. Single Staq Giving (September 2026): Its platform still has some friction between connecting your ChMS and Giving data. That's being addressed, and will save huge amounts of admin time for your team. AI Involvement Summary (August 2026): Pushpay Limited continue to believe AI can be very powerful for ministry, and Pushpay Limited has already delivered a few products like People Search, but that and others still feel challenging to use. Staq Data Lake (September 2026): The "lake" is where all your data lives. It will simplify reporting, and help you leverage AI tools on top of your data to surface the insights you need. Process Queues (September 2026): This is the feature I'm most passionate about, but they get a bad rap because of how difficult they are to use, even though they're an incredible tool for fostering the engagement journey. My goal is for a customer to call me in 6 months and say, "Wow, that was surprisingly simple!" Those 5 wins aren't all Pushpay Limited is working on. Pushpay Limited is introducing a new, modern design and interface that will be intuitive for your entire staff to use. Pushpay Limited is growing its software ecosystem through integrations, APIs, and impactful partnerships like Nurture. And underneath the hood of its platform, Pushpay Limited is unlocking the ability to build features faster in the future to keep up with your needs. As these features roll out, Pushpay Limited want to keep hearing from you. Reach out to your CSM, so that Pushpay Limited can ensure the Staq Transformation updates are meeting your needs. Pushpay acquires Nurture.io to add pastoral care intelligence for churches

Pushpay, a payments and engagement platform for faith-based organisations, has acquired Nurture.io, a pastoral care and engagement platform designed to help ministry leaders track and engage their congregations. Financial terms were not disclosed. Founded in 2024 by former executive pastor Luke Denton, Nurture.io aggregates data from over 17 church technology integrations to provide ministry leaders with engagement insights. Churches using Nurture see 2.8 times more at-risk attendees return, are three times more likely to re-engage lapsed volunteers, and experience a 145% increase in lapsed donors resuming contributions. The acquisition will add an intelligent pastoral care layer to Pushpay's existing products, connecting insights across its giving platform, church management system and livestreaming technology. Denton will continue in a leadership role focused on customer service and platform development.

Pushpay welcomes Nurture.io.

Pushpay welcomes Nurture.io. He knows them by name. Now, so will you. I'm thrilled to share that Pushpay has acquired Nurture.io, a pastoral care and engagement platform purpose-built to help churches know and grow their people. This is a meaningful moment for its company and the amazing churches Pushpay Limited serve. Together, Pushpay and Nurture technology will work to close the shepherding gap, equipping ministry leaders with the tools, insights and action to know every person by name, understand where they are on their spiritual journey, and confidently see that every person in their church is being cared for. All without making changes to your existing tech stack. What excites me most is that this solves a problem Pushpay Limited has heard from its customers for years - and it's one Pushpay Limited couldn't fix on its own. Know them by name. Jesus says in John 10:14: "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me." Pushpay Limited has been building towards this concept for a long time at Pushpay; to deepen connection and help people be known in their community. If you've followed Pushpay over the past year in particular, you may have heard Pushpay Limited talk about the notion of the Engagement Journey. It's its vision for how technology can help ministry leaders walk alongside the different touchpoints of someone's faith journey - from the moment they watch a livestream for the first time, to the day they become a fully committed member of a church. Pushpay Limited has been building toward that vision, and have made significant progress to deliver the digital tools leaders need to help guide their people in their personal faith journey. Through its giving platform, ChMS, Resi, and its recently launched AI capabilities, Pushpay Limited has helped churches bring people in their front doors and keep them engaged through giving, groups, streaming, and more. This is work that I'm immensely proud of, and it's making a real impact on ministry. But there's been a blind spot Pushpay Limited couldn't ignore. Picture this: Someone starts pulling back. Their attendance drops off. Their giving slows. They registered for an event but didn't attend. Or maybe they stopped engaging with your weekly emails. The signals are all there - but they're scattered across eight or nine different systems. No individual staff member has been able to connect the dots. By the time anyone notices, this potential disciple is already lost. These quiet departures, repeated across hundreds of households and churches every year, is what Pushpay Limited call the shepherding gap. That's the gap Nurture was built to close. Nurture compiles data from 17+ integrations - including church management systems, giving platforms, and communication tools - and surfaces real-time engagement signals for ministry leaders. As the first ministry action system for churches, Nurture routes the best course of action to a pastor or staff member before someone slips out the back door for good. The software doesn't replace the human connection at the heart of ministry. It makes directed, intentional connection possible at scale. For nearly fifteen years, Pushpay has been helping churches attract, welcome, and mobilize their people. Adding Nurture to its product portfolio allows Pushpay Limited to complete the pastoral care layer of the Engagement Journey. Together, Pushpay Limited is equipping ministry leaders with tools to help them develop seekers through the conscientious discipleship the Church is called to deliver. Meet the Nurture team. Nurture and Pushpay share the same heart for ministry, as well as a desire to help cultivate authentic human connection in the Church. Nurture.io was founded by Luke Denton, a former executive pastor at one of the largest churches in the United States. He built Nurture because he lived this problem firsthand: watching people quietly slip away from the congregation he loved, while his staff lacked both the visibility to catch issues in time and the tools to act on red flags. Pushpay Limited know that most churches openly embrace technology as a critical component in their ministry today. Pushpay's most recent research found that 91% of church leaders say technology has helped them better care for their community. However, only 9% said that technology primarily helps with discipleship. This is the very work Nurture is built to support. Churches leveraging Nurture's platform see nearly 2.8x more of their at-risk attendees return to the Church, and those churches are nearly three times more likely to re-engage lapsed volunteers. They also see a 145% increase on average in the number of lapsed donors who begin giving again. Luke and his team embody the mission of the Church. They come to the table with a genuine understanding of what it feels like to be on staff, responsible for the souls in your care - but perhaps without the tools to understand those who need your guidance the most. As Pushpay Limited bring its companies more closely together, Luke will continue in a leadership capacity, working with Pushpay to integrate its two platforms. I personally couldn't be more grateful to have him and the Nurture team onboard. What this means for your ministry. If you're a Pushpay or Resi customer, this is exciting news. Nurture will be able to offer a more complete set of tools to know and care for your people at every stage of their faith journey. Equally important: You don't have to be a Pushpay customer to benefit from Nurture's ministry action system. Nurture's commitment to continue integrating across any church's entire technology stack - regardless of the digital tools already in place - remains fully intact. In the near term, Nurture will continue operating as it does today, with Luke and his team focused on serving their customers and continuing to build and enhance their technology. This means that customer support, product development, and maintaining the Nurture brand is business as usual. What Nurture customers can look forward to over time is greater investment in the Nurture roadmap, and more robust support, both for product development and customer growth. In the meantime, its teams will be working to thoughtfully enhance the Pushpay, Resi, and the Nurture experience for the benefit of its customers. Pushpay Limited'll be sharing updates as that work continues. A bold vision for the future. The Pushpay team believes that coming together with Nurture will establish a foundation for something bigger than either of its companies could achieve alone. I'm passionate about the church technology industry because I've seen the amazing work these tools accomplish. Digital solutions help ministry leaders better understand their congregations, and the platform Nurture has pioneered is the next step forward in church tech. Their capabilities allow ministries to not only view their congregation's data, but to truly know every person by name and by story, and these insights empower leaders to act with informed intention as they shepherd their disciples. Pushpay Limited could not be more excited about what Pushpay and Nurture are building together. Pushpay Limited look forward to sharing more updates in the coming months, as its teams thoughtfully develop functionality that will enhance the Pushpay and Nurture experience for everyone striving to grow His Kingdom.
