Quora

Knowledge-sharing platform with AI integration

Overview

Company Historically Provides H1B Sponsorship

Quora runs a global knowledge-sharing platform with more than 400 million monthly visitors, where people ask questions, share insights, and engage in discussions across a wide range of topics. It also offers Poe, a chat space that brings together multiple AI language models (such as GPT-4, Claude 3, Gemini Pro, and DALL-E 3) for unified AI-powered conversations, exploration, and building. Unlike some competitors, Quora combines a large, active community with a built-in AI toolkit, and it monetizes primarily through targeted advertisements feeding from its extensive user base. The company’s goal is to connect people with reliable knowledge and to provide easy access to advanced AI capabilities within one platform.

  • Quora remains cash flow positive, funding product bets without external dependency.

What critics are saying

  • April 2026 layoffs show Poe still burns Quora profits and lacks standalone economics.
  • OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google bundle model access, crushing Poe’s aggregator differentiation.
  • If Quora Q&A traffic declines, Poe’s subsidy ends and growth stalls fast.

What makes Quora unique

  • Quora combines a profitable Q&A network with Poe’s multi-model AI aggregation.
  • Poe added Apps in February 2025, turning model access into a builder platform.
  • Poe group chats in November 2025 support 200 users across 200-plus models.

Quora vs Reddit: which platform drives better engagement?

Quora vs Reddit: which platform drives better engagement? Introduction. Community sites like Quora and Reddit continue to be essential in the dynamic realm of audience development and digital marketing. Which is better for engagement, though? Both provide in-depth specialized communities, lengthy conversations, and genuine contact. Understanding Quora vs. Reddit engagement is essential for choosing the best platform for your business or content strategy when determining where to concentrate your efforts. What is different between Reddit and Quora? At first glance, both Quora and Reddit appear to be Q&A platforms, but their user experience, community tone, and engagement dynamics are very different. Understanding these differences is key when comparing Quora vs. Reddit for content and brand engagement. * Tone and Style Quora is formal and structured. Answers often resemble mini blog posts written by identifiable individuals. Reddit is informal, fast-paced, and conversational, with users usually posting anonymously. * User Identity Quora encourages real names and professional bios, building authority and credibility. Reddit thrives on anonymity, where content takes priority over who says it. * Content Longevity Quora answers are evergreen and searchable - many rank well on Google and generate ongoing traffic. Reddit posts tend to have a short lifespan unless they go viral or are frequently revived in active subreddits. * Engagement Flow On Quora, content is discovered through search and algorithmic feeds based on topics. On Reddit, engagement depends on upvotes, comments, and visibility within active subreddits. In short, Quora is ideal for structured, long-form authority-building, while Reddit offers dynamic, real-time community interaction. The best choice depends on your voice, goals, and how you want your message to resonate. Who uses Quora and Reddit? The composition of the audience is a significant element in determining how Quora vs. Reddit engagement plays out on each platform. * Quora's user demographic generally consists of professionals, students, and individuals seeking knowledge. It is particularly beneficial for those in search of reliable answers or wishing to demonstrate their expertise in a subject. * On the other hand, Reddit boasts a more varied demographic but is predominantly younger, technologically adept, and often more critical of direct marketing approaches. If your intended audience values insights from experts, Quora might be the ideal choice. Conversely, if they favor discussions, humor, or specialized topics, Reddit is probably a more suitable option. How do algorithms affect conversation on both Quora and Reddit? Although they function differently, algorithms on both platforms increase visibility and, consequently, engagement. * Quora makes content recommendations primarily based on user interests and past reading habits. Your visibility increases as you provide more insightful responses. * Reddit employs a system of upvotes and downvotes. If users don't like it, high-quality content might go just as soon. The lesson learned? The key difference between Reddit and Quora interaction is strategy: Reddit prioritizes timeliness and relevance within communities, whereas Quora encourages consistency and clarity. Which platform works better for thought leadership? If you're aiming to build thought leadership, Quora is often the smarter, more scalable platform. Its structure favors in-depth, well-written answers that can rank on Google and deliver long-term SEO value. Reddit, by contrast, values authenticity and community-first dialogue. While you can gain credibility, the platform is quick to reject anything that feels like self-promotion. However, formats like AMAs offer great real-time engagement if done transparently. In short: Quora suits long-term authority, while Reddit is better for real-time buzz - if you know how to navigate its culture. Which platform is better for organic traffic? Increasing traffic is important for creators and marketers. So, which one does the job? * Over time, Quora becomes a passive source of traffic because its answers frequently appear in search engine results. * If a post becomes viral, Reddit traffic can increase rapidly, but it is typically transient and more difficult to maintain. Quora is superior when considering SEO and the long run. However, Reddit has a lot of promise if you're looking for a rapid boost or want to test concepts in particular communities. Engagement on Quora versus Reddit again comes down to timing and goals. Which platform is evolving faster in 2026? Both platforms are evolving, albeit in distinct manners: * Quora is embracing AI through tools such as Poe (its chatbot platform) and enhancing its personalization algorithms. * Reddit is focusing on monetization expansion, refining moderation tools, and developing features like real-time chat and short-form video. * The surge in Reddit's active users and the diversity of subreddits have significantly increased, particularly in 2026, rendering it a more vibrant environment. Conversely, Quora is subtly transforming into a blend of social Q&A and AI-driven knowledge sharing. * Moreover, Reddit's stricter community regulations assist brands in steering clear of toxic interactions, while Quora's focus on credentials and expertise enhances its reliability for professional conversations. Marketers need to consider these distinctions when determining where to allocate their time and content resources. The rivalry between the two is intensifying, and their future developments will further influence the ongoing Quora versus Reddit engagement discourse. Conclusion. In the end, both Quora and Reddit offer valuable engagement opportunities - each in its own way. Quora excels at driving long-term visibility through structured, informative content, while Reddit thrives on immediacy, niche conversations, and community-driven interaction. Smart brands don't limit themselves to just one. Quora can serve as a space to share expertise and build authority, while Reddit offers a chance to test ideas, gather unfiltered feedback, and stay close to audience sentiment. At Sundayy, a global work opportunity platform, Sundayy recognize that meaningful engagement comes from choosing the right channels for the right purpose. Whether you're a freelancer sharing insights or a company fostering trust, success comes down to strategy, consistency, and showing up where your voice matters most.

Quora in the next YC batch | Y Combinator

This month, YC will be participating in Quora’s most recent investment round and Quora will be joining this summer’s YC batch.  This is a new experiment for us; we’ve funded later-stage companies before, but none close to Quora’s stage.  Our hope is that both the company and the YC community will get a lot of value out of this. We’re not sure if it’s something we’ll do again; some of our experiments have worked and some of them haven’t.  But Adam D’Angelo is awesome, and we’re big Quora fans, s

Big Tech cut 80,000 jobs and blamed AI — but experts say companies are 25% to 75% overstaffed

Big Tech companies laid off over 80,000 employees in Q1 2026, nearly triple the 30,000 cuts in Q1 2025, marking the highest number in three years. Whilst many companies cite AI as the reason, experts suggest this may be "AI washing" — using automation as a scapegoat for deeper issues. In March, AI was claimed as the cause for 25% of US job cuts, though overall it accounts for 13% of 2026 layoffs. Meta announced plans to cut 10% of staff, whilst Microsoft offered voluntary buyouts to seven percent of employees. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman noted nearly every company conducting layoffs blames AI, regardless of whether it's actually responsible. Venture capitalist Marc Andreessen pointed to different culprits: rapid interest rate changes from pandemic-era zero rates to over 5% in 2023.

Claude 4.5 Opus and the personal Encyclopedia security risks.

By cross-referencing Uber logs, bank statements, Marcus Webb Senior Backend Analyst The pitch. Jeremy (whoami.wiki) has utilised Claude 4.5 Opus and the Claude Code CLI to synthesise fragmented personal data into a structured MediaWiki instance. By cross-referencing Uber logs, bank statements, and Shazam history, the project reconstructed a detailed narrative of a Mexico City trip (Source: Tech Times, March 26, 2026). It demonstrates the high-end reasoning capabilities of the current Claude 4 series. Under the hood. Claude 4.5 Opus currently holds the benchmark lead for long-context reasoning as of February 2026 (Source: Anthropic Transparency Hub). This enables the model to ingest thousands of lines of raw CSV and GPS data to identify patterns that previous generations missed. Many large-scale organisations, including Notion, DuckDuckGo, and Quora, now integrate these models into their core workflows. See Claude profile However, the security implications of this "Personal Encyclopedia" are significant. Claude Code, the agentic tool used to manage the project, is subject to CVE-2026-21852. This vulnerability allows for remote code execution through manipulated settings files (Source: Dark Reading). Furthermore, OWASP 2026 has documented "HITL Dialog Forging," where users habitually approve agentic prompts without verifying the underlying commands. Privacy remains a primary concern for backend architects. Since late 2025, Anthropic's policy dictates that consumer data from Pro and Max tiers is used for training by default unless users manually opt out (Source: char.com, March 2026). Feeding raw financial transactions and location history into a proprietary cloud model creates a permanent, searchable record of a user's private life. Several technical details remain opaque. Usedby do not know the specific system prompts required to maintain consistency across the MediaWiki architecture (UsedBy Dossier). More importantly, there is no public verification that Anthropic effectively purges these large-scale personal data uploads after the standard 30-day retention period for non-training accounts. Marcus's take. This project is a sophisticated way to gift-wrap your digital soul for a future data breach. While the reasoning density of Claude 4.5 Opus is technically superior for indexing messy logs, the combination of CVE-2026-21852 and Anthropic's "opt-out" training policy makes this a non-starter for production or personal use. If you value your operational security, keep your bank statements and GPS coordinates out of the cloud and stick to local-first analysis. Ship clean code, Marcus.
