Juspay and Recurly partner to accelerate growth in subscription payments.

Juspay and Recurly partner to accelerate growth in subscription payments. * Payments * 22.07.2026 02:28 pm Juspay, a global payments technology company serving enterprises and banks, today announced a partnership with Recurly, a leading subscription management and recurring billing platform. The collaboration integrates Juspay's open-source payment orchestration platform, Hyperswitch, into the Recurly ecosystem. This partnership enables Recurly's merchants to reduce payment failures, scale with new payment providers, and accelerate go-to-market with greater speed and control. Subscription businesses operate in an environment where payment performance directly impacts revenue retention. A suboptimal payment experience can mean the difference between a loyal subscriber and a churned one. This partnership addresses that challenge by combining Recurly's depth in recurring billing with Juspay's payment orchestration capabilities and access to a broad network of PSPs across geographies. At the core of this partnership is Hyperswitch, Juspay's open-source payment orchestration platform, designed to give enterprises and platforms full control over their payment stack. Hyperswitch enables seamless integration with over 300 PSPs and acquirers globally, allowing Recurly to activate new payment methods for their merchants without complex technical builds. Recurly also leverages Hyperswitch's Platform Organization mode to programmatically onboard and manage merchants across its portfolio without adding any operational overhead. For end users, this translates into a frictionless checkout experience and the ability to transact using their preferred payment methods. Together, these capabilities are delivered within a unified integration layer that significantly reduces time-to-market for merchants. "Subscription businesses need a payment infrastructure that is reliable and built to scale," said Matt Healey, Director of Product Partnerships at Juspay. "Through Hyperswitch, we enable merchants to reduce payment friction, and expand into new markets without rebuilding their payment stack from scratch. Our partnership with Recurly brings these capabilities directly into the subscription management workflow, where payment performance matters most." "Flexibility and performance are non-negotiable for subscription businesses operating at global scale," said Jonas Flodh, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Recurly. "By integrating Juspay Hyperswitch with Recurly's platform, merchants gain access to best-in-class integrations in a vast payments network that will open up access to new payment methods and markets." Designed to operate as an extension of internal payment teams, Juspay works closely with partners to co-build and optimize payment infrastructure, enabling faster innovation cycles and long-term scalability. This collaboration reinforces Juspay's position as a trusted payments infrastructure partner, helping global platforms simplify payment complexity while delivering seamless and reliable experiences to end users.

How Chegg rebuilt for speed: Agility, ai, and the future of subscription businesses.

How Chegg rebuilt for speed: Agility, ai, and the future of subscription businesses. TABLE OF CONTENTS In this session from SubSummit 2025, Recurly Chief Customer Officer Rachel Sharif sits down with Rahul Desai, CTO of Chegg, to dig into how one of edtech's most well-known brands navigated AI disruption, shed a homegrown billing system, and rebuilt for speed. What you'll hear: Chegg moved off a homegrown subscription management system that required full engineering teams to execute even basic pricing changes. After switching to a platform approach with Recurly, the business went from multi-week engineering projects to same-day launches - and ran 18 pricing and promotional experiments in a single quarter. Rahul frames the core lesson plainly: the constraint was never technology. It was people and processes catching up to what technology made possible. His advice for leaders navigating disruption: don't mistake a market shift for a technology problem, and never lose focus on the differentiation that actually matters to your customers. Key themes covered: * Why subscription agility - not just recurring revenue - defines success today * The real cost of a homegrown billing system (and what unlocked growth after leaving it behind) * How Chegg went from opinionated decisions to empirical ones by making experimentation fast and cheap * Global expansion: localizing payment methods, currencies, and subscription flows for international markets * What Rahul calls "human unlearning" - the next constraint for AI-era companies Chegg moved off a homegrown subscription management system that required full engineering teams to execute even basic pricing changes.
