Red Points launches deepfake protection to detect and remove AI-generated impersonation videos

Red Points has launched Deepfake Protection, a service designed to detect and remove AI-generated videos impersonating public figures. The solution combines honeypot agents, facial and voice recognition, behavioural analysis, and natural language processing to identify fraudulent content across TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, and YouTube. The company, which protects over 1,300 brands globally, reports a shift in targets. Deepfake impersonation now affects executives, athletes, artists, and influencers beyond the traditional political figures and celebrities. Red Points' system uses computer vision technology trained on 2.7 billion data points processed monthly. The service addresses both detection and enforcement challenges, deploying honeypot agents that mimic victim profiles to trigger fraudulent content delivery. It then validates fraudulent intent to distinguish scams from legitimate or parody content before initiating takedown actions.

Red Points named AWS Rising Star Technology Partner of the Year

Red Points named AWS Rising Star Technology Partner of the Year. Red Points, the world's most widely used brand protection platform, has been named the 2025 Rising Star Technology Partner of the Year by Amazon Web Services (AWS). The annual AWS awards recognize technology providers delivering secure, scalable platforms that support mission-critical digital operations for enterprise customers. Enterprise-grade architecture on AWS. Trusted by more than 1,300 brands across fintech, software, gaming, health, entertainment, hospitality, and consumer goods, Red Points is an official AWS Partner and operates its platform following AWS Well-Architected best-practice standards, ensuring reliability, performance, and security at scale. Red Points' SaaS platform is available through the AWS Marketplace, giving organizations the ability to integrate Red Points into their cybersecurity stack in a few clicks. Fraud at machine speed. This recognition comes at a time when generative AI has fundamentally changed the economics of online fraud. Counterfeiters and impersonation networks now automate listing creation, clone brand assets, generate realistic product images, and rotate identity signals within minutes. This shift requires AI-native brand protection systems engineered to capture emerging patterns, prioritize what matters most, and enforce quickly at a global scale. Consumer confusion in a synthetic commerce era. Consumers increasingly struggle to distinguish legitimate products from sophisticated counterfeits. In recent research by Red Points, 46% of shoppers reported unintentionally purchasing a fake item, and 58% attributed the mistake to professional-grade product images and convincing brand assets generated by AI. Scale and sophistication accelerate in parallel. Behind this shift is a rapid rise in automated abuse. Scam-site creation increased 59% from 2022 to 2024 and is projected to grow another 70% by the end of 2025, alongside surges in fake listings, fraudulent sellers, and impersonation pages across social commerce and search. Red Points processes more than 90 million digital signals per day, spanning marketplaces, social platforms, websites, apps, and paid media, using advanced AI, prioritization models, and operational discipline built over a decade of global brand-protection experience. Expanding protection into ai-commerce. Most recently, Red Points introduced AI Commerce Protection, extending brand-protection coverage into AI shopping assistants and generative search environments, as consumers increasingly discover and buy products through AI assistants - a channel where familiar trust signals, such as verified sellers, reviews, and authentic brand links, are not yet fully established. "A brand is defined by its products and the trust behind them. This award reflects a global shift: companies are moving from reacting to brand attacks to treating consumer protection as a strategic capability. Our focus is to give businesses the confidence to grow in the digital world, knowing their customers are protected at every touchpoint." - Laura Urquizu, President & CEO, Red Points "Generative AI has lowered the entry barriers for fraud and raised its sophistication," said Joan Porta, Chief Strategy & Partnerships Officer at Red Points. "Effective enforcement now depends on models that anticipate patterns, adapt quickly, and act at a global scale. AWS gives us the infrastructure to execute with consistency, even as digital environments evolve."
