MTM Transit to begin operating Kern Transit system October 1.

MTM Transit to begin operating Kern Transit system October 1. MTM Transit is excited to share that MTM, Inc. has been selected by Kern County to operate the Kern Transit system, a geographically diverse public transportation network in California. Beginning October 1, 2026, MTM Transit will assume responsibility for operating Kern Transit under a five-year contract, delivering both fixed route and demand response transportation services throughout Kern County. The system serves a vast 8,000-square-mile region and provides vital transportation connections for communities across the county. Kern Transit operates 12 fixed routes and six Dial-A-Ride service zones, connecting residents to employment, healthcare, education, shopping, and other essential destinations throughout the region. The system serves communities across Kern County and provides important regional connections for passengers traveling within and beyond the county. MTM Transit was selected following a competitive procurement process in which MTM, Inc. demonstrated its experience operating public transportation systems nationwide and its commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and customer-focused service. Its operating approach emphasizes service quality, workforce stability, operational efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement while ensuring a seamless transition for passengers and stakeholders. MTM Transit awarded contract to operate Scottsdale Trolley service. MTM Transit is honored to announce that MTM, Inc. has been awarded a contract by the City of Scottsdale to operate the Scottsdale Trolley system, one of Arizona's most recognizable public transportation services. Beginning September 13, MTM Transit will assume responsibility for operating Scottsdale's fare-free trolley network under an initial 22-month contract with three one-year renewal options. The Scottsdale Trolley system provides convenient transportation throughout the city using a fleet of 17 vehicles, including diesel and compressed natural gas (CNG) trolleys, serving three fixed routes. The service connects residents and visitors to Scottsdale's neighborhoods, shopping districts, dining destinations, entertainment venues, community events, and other key destinations across the city. MTM Transit brings extensive experience delivering safe, reliable, and customer-focused transportation solutions to communities nationwide. MTM, Inc. will leverage its operational expertise, commitment to safety, and innovative approach to service delivery to support the City's transportation goals and enhance the rider experience. Chris York promoted to Regional Vice President - Central.

Chris York promoted to Regional Vice President - Central. MTM Transit is proud to announce that Chris York has been promoted to Regional Vice President - Central. He replaces Jack Hempstead, who recently transitioned to the role of Vice President of Business Development. With more than 28 years of hands-on leadership in large-scale paratransit and mobility management programs across the country, Chris is exceptionally well-qualified for this new role. His deep operational expertise, proven ability to build high-performing teams, and commitment to service excellence make him a natural fit to lead MTM Transit's Central region. Since joining MTM Transit, Chris has served as a Floating General Manager and Implementation Manager. He most notably led the successful launch of the Pima County, Arizona project, where he built strong relationships with both internal teams and client partners. Throughout his time with the company, he has consistently driven operational consistency, strengthened safety practices, and elevated service quality across multiple markets. Prior to joining its team, Chris held several key leadership positions with MV Transportation. He spent a decade overseeing the Access LYNX mobility operation in central Florida, a major program that included more than 400 employees and a fleet of 225 vehicles providing both paratransit and fixed-route services. Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Operations for the WMATA paratransit system in Washington, D.C., where he managed more than 1,000 employees and a fleet of over 700 vehicles across five divisions spanning Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. "Chris is widely recognized for his ability to build strong teams, stabilize complex operations, and deliver measurable improvements in service performance, safety, and customer satisfaction," said Ed Overn, MTM Transit's Senior Vice President of Operations.
